As we near the club, I could see the lights flashing out of the small creaks of the doors and windows. The music could be heard from across the street where we wear and the line wrapped around the building. I pull Lydia's hand to go to the back of the line before she stops me.

"We're not waiting. Let's go." she says as I follow behind her as she goes to the bouncer in front.

"Vicky! Let me in!" by Lydia says before hugging him.

"Of course. Anything for my favorite side piece." Vicky says, making them laugh. I didn't get it.

"And who is this fine girl right here?" he asks pointing to me.

"Hi! I'm Lilith." I say sticking my hand out.

"Vicky." he says glancing up and down my body.

"She's too nice to be here. Why would you bring her down here?" He asks Lydia. I didn't know the answer either so I looked at her.

"She's too innocent. She's gotta be exposed to real life, so why not do it now." Lydia says as she pushes past him and drags me into the building.

The air smelled like something I'd never smelt before. Almost like manure.

" It's weed, Lilith." Lydia says. I let out a small 'oh' before following her as she kept walking.

We walked over to the bar where she ordered two strawberry vodka shots before passing one to me.

"No Lyds, i'm good." I say but she brings the glass to my lips anyways and pushes my mouth open to swallow it.

"Lydia please don't do that again, I didn't like it." I say but she rolls her eyes.

"Have fun for once! Please! You're so boring!" she says before ordering more.

"Lydia, I'm not boring, I just don't want to be drunk." I say, trying to reason with her.

"Jesus Christ. Fine, stay sober all your life, stay a virgin all your life, do whatever the hell you want. I'm gonna go dance." She says walking away.

"No Lydia, I'm sorry-" I say but I was cut short by gunshots.

Screams erupted and Lydia turned around and ran back to me. We both got to the floor as the gunshots kept coming. I grabbed her hand and held it to my chest, telling by the way she was shaking she was crying.

"It's okay Lydia, we're fine." I say running my fingers over her hand.

I wanted to cry but I knew I couldn't. I had to stay strong for Lydia.

The gunshots were still going as I felt a rush of wind go by my ear and into the person that was on the ground by me. Lydia started to scream but I muffled it with my hand.

"Stop! Please be quiet!" I begged her, and we made eye contact.

"It's okay." I turned around to look at who had been shot to see that the person had a gun in his hand.

I jumped a little but went to him.

"Are you okay? I think you got shot in the arm." I say wrapping my hand around his bullet wound.

"Get the fuck off of me." he spit, pushing me off.

"I'm sorry, but this is gonna hurt." I say crawling back to him and pushing the tip of my finger in the hole to stop the bleeding.

"Lilith, what are you doing? Are you dumb, leave him!" Lydia begged me but I couldn't just leave him to bleed out.

"Lyds I can't. I'm sorry." I said, turning my attention back to the bleeding man.
