Chapter 24 - Lilith

We arrive back at the mansion, and I follow Riot out of the car.

"When you pick Ava up, ask her where she wants to go." he says as we walk up the stairs and into the house.

"Okay, when would we leave?" I ask.

"Whenever, just tell me." he says and I nod.

He links our fingers together again as he starts walking through the backyard and into the backyard. We walk out to see Anastasia in the pool again, this time Rome is with her. He looks up at us and smiles.

"Seems like I just attract Lilith wherever I go." Rome says and Anastasia smiles.

"Shut the fuck up. Get out, we have work to do." Riot says.

Rome gets out of the pool, and walks over to us. His wet hair hangs in his face, and I look behind him to see Anastaisa pouting.

"I'll be back soon, babe." Rome says before he walks into the house, dripping water everywhere.

Anastasia screams as she jumps in the water, bringing Riot and I's attention to her.

"You heard that! He called me babe! You heard it, I know you did!" she says.

"Yes, we heard it. How cute!" I say and she smiles.

"He was doing that to see if Lilith had a reaction to it, and she didnt." Riot says and I turn to look at him.

"Riot, don't be so mean." I say and he shrugs.

"She thinks he likes her. You should be happy I'm telling her he doesn't." he says and I turn to look back at her.

"Well, maybe he does. You don't know that." she says and Riot raises his eyebrow.

"I've known him his whole life, you've known him for what, a month?" he says.

"Riot!" I say and he looks down at me.

"Dont let your friend believe stupid shit. I'll see you later, baby." he says and he leans down to kiss me.

I get on my tip-toes and kiss him back, watching as he walks back into the house.

Guards walk out as he walks in, and they stay by the door.

"Im sorry, Stassie. He doesn't realize how mean he sounds sometimes." I say and she shrugs.

"Does Rome like you?" she asks and I shake my head.

'No, of course not. Were just friends." I say and she puts everything except her head under the water.

"So why would he try to see if he could make you jealous?" she asks and I shrug.

"I don't know, he's odd sometimes." I say and she laughs.

"Well, that's true." she says.

She gets out of the water and onto a floatie.

"Come on here with me, Bunny." she says.

"If I do, you can't push me in the water, I have to get Ava soon." I say and she nods.

"I won't, promise." she says and I start walking towards the pool.

I slide my shoes off and step onto the floatie, laying down next to Stassie.

"I'm scared." I say and she pulls her head up.

"What? Why?" she asks.

"I feel like there's sharks below me. I don't know, it's always been something I was scared of." I say and she laughs.

"Hey! It's not funny, I'm literally terrified of sharks." I say.

"I can understand that, but why would there be sharks in the pool? I know it's huge but that doesn't make sense, babe." she says.
