Chapter 18 - Lilith

I feel someone shaking me awake, and I open my eyes to see Riot sitting up. I rub my eyes and look out of the window, seeing the sunshine peeking through the curtains.

"You have to get Ava ready for school." he says and I nod before throwing my legs over the side of his bed.

As I'm standing up, I feel him grab my wrist and turn me back around.

"We have to go to a meeting tonight. I need you to talk Anastasia into being okay with Rome taking her." he says and I tilt my head.

"Why does she need to go to your meeting?" I ask and he brings his hands to cup my face.

"It's a meeting with the Dons of the most powerful mafias. Rome and I need to show stability in order to keep our tadres between them. If we show up with girls who look like hookers, it'll question our stability. It'll just be better for us to take both of you." he says and I nod.

"Okay. What should we wear?" I ask and he rubs his thumb against my cheek.

"Whatever. Just nothing that makes either of you look like whores." he says and I smile as I nod.

"Okay, go. I'll see you at breakfast." he says as he releases me and I walk out of his room.

I press the elevator button and wait for it to come. When it does, I get in and notice Andre is in the elevator again.

"Goodmorning." I say and he ignores me.

I brush it off and press my floor button before I feel the elevator go down. When the doors open, I walk into my room before doing my morning routine. After i'm done, I walk over to my closet and pull out a blue short sleeved blouse and black skinny ripped jeans. The rips go over my thighs and knees. I then pull obsidian jordans and put them on.

I make sure my bracelet and necklace are on before I exit my room and enter Avas. Her curly hair shapes her face as she sleeps, and I gently stir her so she'll wake up.

"Ava, it's time to wake up." I say and she groans.

"Five more minutes, Bunny." she says and I nod before getting up to get her clothes.

I pull out black leggings, a blue short sleeved shirt, and white velcro Vans for her to wear. I then get her bracelet off of her nightstand and place them on top of the bathroom sink so they'll be ready for after her bath.

I walk back over to her and she rubs her eyes before she gets out of bed and starts walking towards the bathroom. I do her morning routine, and get her dressed before putting on her shoes.

We stand in front of the bathroom mirror and Ava closes her eyes as I put her curly hair into two buns. She opens her eyes when she feels my hands leave her head and begins to walk out of her room. I walk with her, and we say goodmorning to every guard. They ignore us, ofcourse, and we all get in the elevator when it arrives.

Ava pulls out some of her hairs to make it less tight, and I pull out the harson to the side of her face to help frame it. The doors soon open and we all get out, Ava holding my hand as we walk towards the dining hall.

"You're tired, aren't you, Aves?" I say and she nods.

We continue to walk and we eventually enter the dining hall. We walk to our seats where I help Ava sit before sitting down myself. I serve Ava and I before looking up to Anastasia. She sits as she quietly talks to Rome, who turned himself to her. Rome nods and I turn to look at Riot who's typing on his phone.

He notices me looking at him and he picks up to eat something off of my plate before putting it back down. I begin to eat when I notice Ava is awfully quiet. I turn towards her and realize she's laid her head on her arms as she sleeps.
