I wake up in my room, and I look up towards the ceiling. My neck hurt, and all of my thoughts were scrambled. I get up and walk to my bathroom before I see something move out of the corner of my eye.
By my door stands a man dressed in all black, a security guard im assuming. I look away from him and go into my bathroom before shutting the door.
I do my morning routine before I look into the mirror and see the purple hand shaped bruise on my neck. I place my hand over it, seeing how much bigger his hand is then mine.
I wince as I pull away and go to get dressed. I didn't want Ava to see it, so I go withs white turtleneck and blue jeans with rips on the knees.
I reach down to put on white platform sandals before I get back up and walk towards my door.
The man moves out of the way before opening the door and following me out. I walk into Ava's room to see her sleeping, and I wake her up before doing her morning routine.
As I finish strapping her shoes, I gently take her hand and walk her to the door. As I open it, two more security guards are standing by the door.
I continue walking before I press the first floor button and walk into it when it opens. Ava presses against my legs as she looks up at all the people with us.
The doors open and she runs down the hall towards the dining room. I begin to follow her when one of them stops me.
"You're not allowed to eat there anymore," he says and I slowly nod before looking down.
I see Ava turn around, waiting for me to come, before I call her over.
"I have to do something, okay? I'll wait for you right outside the doors, just come when you're done." I say and frowns before walking to the dining hall.
I look at her until she turns a corner and turns back around towards the security guards. Half of them went with Ava, so now there were only 2.
"Why am I not allowed in?" I ask.
"Traitors normally die, but seeing as you're so valuable, it's better to keep you alive. Your privileges have been taken away." he says and he scowls at me.
"But i'm not a traitor, I didn't even do anything." I say and they laugh.
"Don already had your blood tested. You are the next heir to the French mafia, lying isn't going to get you anywhere." he says before he stops talking and looks at me.
I shake my head, there's no way I am. It would make sense, i'm not even French. I walk towards the dining room doors before I sit down next to them, waiting to Ava.
I drop my head as I see Riot and Rome, who ignore me as they walk past me. I sigh and put my head on my arms, which are resting on my knees.
The security guards don't take their eyes off of me as I wait 30 minutes for Ava to finish eating. She runs out before she sees me and smiles.
I get up, wiping my hands on my pants and she runs out of the back door. She didn't have school today, which meant we were going to be spending all day outside. I go after her, and the men follow me.
We go up to our tree before laying down and she sticks her hand in the air, singing some song.
We lay like this for an hour before she gets bored and starts running around. She laughs as she runs and looks back at me every couple of minutes to make sure I'm watching her.
"Ava!Too far, come back!" I say and she turns around before running back towards me.
I feel my stomach growl, and I ignore it as I get up to play with Ava. We walk around the garden for a little bit, and then we go to one of the water fountains. She tries to get in, before I stop her, and she frowns.
