Chapter 27 - Lilith

I wake up when I hear my name being called, and I open my eyes to see the bed empty. I didn't hear Riot get up, or the door open.

"Bunny!" I hear, and I can tell it's Ava.

It seems like she's yelling from the bottom of the staircase, waiting for me to come down.

"Coming!" I yell back before getting out of bed and going to the bathroom.

I glance in the mirror to see Riots shirt placed onto me, and my hair sticking out in every direction. I run my hand over it before going to turn on the shower and getting in.

I take a quick shower, washing my face, body, and hair before getting out. I wrap a towel around my torso and go to the bathroom sink before brushing my teeth.

After I'm done, I go to my closet and pick out my clothes for the day. I pulled out a white sweater, light blue jeans, and white air force 1's, where the checkmark was the same color as my jeans. I put on a matching lace set and socks before sliding the rest on.

I walk back over to the bathroom, looking in the mirror before parting my hair down the middle and brushing it so it stays flat. I put on mascara and lip gloss before cleaning up any mess I made and walking out the door.

"Ava!" I say, and I hear her run to the bottom of the staircase.

She smiles up at me before running back to wherever she was, making me follow her when I reach the bottom.

She leads me to the table where breakfast is already laid out, and I see Riot standing by the side of it, talking to someone on the phone.

"Look at all the food!" Ava says.

"I know, I see!" I say and she squeals before going to sit down.

I sit down next to her before serving her and myself, looking back at Riot as he hangs up the phone and comes to sit next to me.

"Are you okay?" I ask him and he nods before running a hand through his hair and serving himself.

I wait for him to eat something off of my plate before starting to eat my bowl of oatmeal. Ava and I talk about our plans for the day, and I nod my head as I listen to her talking.

"Wow, that seems fun, Aves." I say and she smiles.

I watch as she finishes her food, pushing the plate away from her when she's done. I look down at her to notice she's already dressed for the snow, shoes and everything.

"Did you get ready all by yourself?" I ask and she nods.

"Yes, I think I did a good job." she says.

"You did. You look very pretty." I say and she blushes.

"Thank you, Bunny." she says and I nod.

"Are you ready?" I ask and she nods before jumping off of the chair she was sitting on and going to the front door.

"Are you coming?" I ask as I turn towards Riot.

"Yeah." he says before getting up, taking my hand, and leading me to the door.

He was acting weird today, and not talking as much. I help Ava put on another jacket and a beanie before opening the front door and walking into the front yard. She runs back in, grabs her stuffed animal, then runs back out.

"First, we're going skiing, okay?" Ava says and I nod.

"Whatever you want to do is fine." I say and she runs to the top of the hill, where there's a snow lift that will take us up to the small mountains.
