l finish getting Ava ready before taking her hand in mine and walking to the elevators. I had to leave Riots bed earlier because someone called him, and he went out to the patio.
Once the doors open, Ava, Vincent, and get in. I press the first floor button, and look down at Ava while she rubs her eyes. The doors open and Ava runs down the hall towards the dining hall.
We enter before walking to our chairs and I help Ava into hers. I turn around to see Riots' chair empty before looking at Rome. He shrugs before looking at Ava.
I serve Ava and myself before hearing someone walk towards me and looking at them. I see Riot looking down at his phone as he wipes his face with his hands before looking up at me.
He puts his phone in his pocket before sitting down and talking to Rome. They switch languages and I look towards Ava and we start talking about kittens.
I begin to laugh, but my head turns towards a window that just broke. I look over to Riot before seeing him look at me. He opens his mouth, but his head snaps towards a second window being broken.
I look towards Ava, and Riot pulls me off my chair and under the table. I rush to get Ava down with me before I hear shorts being fired.
Vincent stands in front of us, I can only see his feet and legs as he shoots at whoever's shooting at us.
Riot went back up, pulling out his gun, and walking away. Ava puts her head into my chest, and I begin to rub her head.
"It's okay, Aves." I say and she starts crying.
"Stop crying, Ava." I say and she cries harder as more people come into the room and begin shooting.
I close my eyes and hold Ava until I feel someone bend down next to me. I open my eyes to see Riot, holding out his hand for me to take.
I take his hand and Ava wraps her arms around my neck before Riot leads me out of the room and down a hallway.
We enter a hallway that seems like a dead end until Riot presses on a wall, and it moves back. He pulls me into the room before looking back at Ava and I.
"Don't leave this room. Either me or Vincent will come get you." he says and I nod.
He puts my face in his hands before kissing me and walking out the door, shutting it behind him.
I look around the room to see it has a small bed and a bathroom. I sit down on the bed, Ava still in my arms. She's still crying, and I run my fingers through her hair.
"It's okay, Ava." I say and it makes her cry harder.
I hear footsteps and quickly cover Avas mouth, silencing her cries. There's banging on the door, and my eyes look around the room. I see a small hook on the floor, and go to it before picking it up to reveal a small compartment under the floor.
It was empty, but it wasn't big enough for both of us. I look back at Ava before picking her up and putting my finger to my mouth, telling her to be quiet. The pounding gets louder, and Ava slowly nods. I show her and she looks up at me, shaking her head.
"Ava, please. I need you to go in here." I whisper and she shakes her head.
"Ava, please. I need you to do it for me." I whisper and she shakes her head again.
I pick her up and place her in there, shaking my head as she starts to cry. She stops crying and looks up at me, her big brown eyes telling me she's scared.
"It's okay." I whisper and she nods.
"I have to shut it now, but I promise i'll open it back up, okay?" I whisper.
