Chapter 42 | "I'm just making an ally out of the Empire's enemy."

THIRD PERSON POV

"This is the only best that I could. The Empire is keeping a close eye on me because their spies saw you as you enter my domain. Sylvester, we're old friends, but there's only so much that I could do for you. Even though I am the king of the Magic Kingdom, I can only keep you hidden for a few days." The holy priest clicked his tongue after he heard his old friend words.

"That's okay. I understand." The holy priest went inside the shabby house and sat on the chair.

"How is the situation in your kingdom, dear old friend?" The sorcerer king sighed.

"Elpis has placed my kingdom on high alert. Even though we have bad blood but with the state of my kingdom now, we can't even hold off his knights that guard the Empire in the shadows. Elpis manage to trainer one of the deadliest assassins in the world, my friend. I can't risk my kingdom's future like this for an old debt. I'm sorry." The holy priest glared at the king.

"I guess you're right. But do remember that if the Empire manage to capture me, I will reveal your secret to Elpis. And when that happens, your little experiment will have to stop and not only that, your kingdom will be taken over while you and your family become Elpis's slaves." Sylvester smiled.

"Do tell me, old friend. Your wife hasn't woke up from her slumber, am I right? You were forced to take your heir out from your wife because you don't wish to see your little prince suffer and you without anyone to take over your place once you're dead. How old is your prince? Five years old?" The king sighed.

"What should I do to prevent that?" The king finally gave in because he cares for his family.

"Simple, protect me with your life, and your secret will be safe. I won't tell anyone that you kidnapped young boys and girls and do an inhuman experiment on them just because you want to revive your wife." The king hates himself for resulting in violence, but he has no other choices.

It was for his wife.

"It's been five years. I've done what you asked me to. Why does my wife remain the way she is? The amount of death I have to carry is enough to earn me to Hell. Sylvester, is there any other way to save my wife?" The holy priest chuckled.

"There's no other way. Continue to grab any child you see and do what I asked you to do. Your wife will eventually succumb to the treatment. Anyway, I hope you have a better selection of woman this time. Is your sister one of the selection?" The king kneels in front of the priest.

"She is not. But, there's a few who will satisfy you." The priest sighed.

"Fine. Leave and send in the girls to me. It's been a while since I had fun." The king nodded and went outside.

"Because of you, I have to lower my standard to be in this poor kingdom." The priest stood up from his seat and walked around the small room.

"Because of you, have to feed my power using secondary resources! Elpis, I swear, I will end your reign and take over the Empire who possessed unlimited spiritual power. And once I've taken all of that, I will torture all of your defendants and your concubines. How dare you challenge me, you weak woman." The priest grips his hand to a fist as he waits for his servants.

Outside of the priest's room, the king of the Magic Kingdom sigh as he walked across the long stretch of hallway.

"Did he took the bait?" The king was surprised to see Virtra standing in the middle of the hallway while crossing her hands.

"Yes, your majesty." Virtra gave the king a small smile before opening the door that leads him out from the dungeon. As the king stepped one of his foot out, Elpis greets the king with a pat on his shoulder.
