THIRD PERSON POV

"Our informant says that the enemy ambushed lady Isadora's troops. Even though it was sudden, the dame seems ready for any kind of surprise attack. Because of that, Lady Isadora didn't lose any of her men." Elpis smirked as she kicked the side of her horse and made her way towards the frontlines.

"Is this your first time accompany the shadow empress to war, little boy?" A senior knight suddenly pulled up his horse next to the young advisor.

"Yes. My father wants me to serve the ruler. I didn't expect to be serving the princess general who called herself the shadow empress. Everything doesn't make sense, but I see why everyone follows whatever the shadow empress ordered. That woman is a true meaning of a leader." The senior knight laughed.

"You only see half of what makes the shadow empress the leader of the Empire. Soon you'll get to see how 'that woman' earned herself the title as the bloody empress." The troops continued to follow the shadow empress into battle without any regards of their safety.

The knights have been serving Elpis for almost half of their life's, and they know that offending the shadow empress is not the right move.

"Prepare yourself to protect the shadow empress with your life, my dear knights. Because if we survive unscathed, the imperial consort will have our head instead! PROTECT THE EMPRESS!" The senior knight shouted to rally the troops.

"REINFORCEMENT!!" Isadora was not expecting any reinforcement from the Capital. The dame was sure that she didn't inform any of the imperial knights about her trip to the frontlines.

"Is that- it's the shadow empress!" Isadora's eyes widen when she saw the shadow empress galloping into the battlefield with only her sword.

"Are you surprise, little miss knight?" Elpis grinned when she threw her sword towards Isadora and stabbed the enemy knight who was about to sneak attacked the dame from behind. Isadora turned around to see the body of the holy knight slumps onto the ground.

Elpis redirected her horse towards the dame and pulled out her sword from the enemy's chest.

"Get a hold of yourself and attack those who invade the Empire! LEAVE NO ONE UNSCATHED! KILL! KILL THEM ALL!" Elpis shouted before march into a group of knights with spears without regarding her safety.

"FOLLOW THE EMPRESS!" Isadora shouted for her troops and followed Elpis into the enemies den. The dame sliced stabbed and decapitated anyone who has intention on hurting the shadow empress.

"FALL BACK! RETREAT! We can't win this! FALL BACK!" Elpis jumped off her horse and made her way towards the one who seems to be in charge of the enemy's troops.

"Fall back? Retreat?! Not when I'm around!" Elpis slaughtered the holy knight without hesitation.

"Isadora, kill them all!" The dame ran towards the remaining enemy troops and decapitated every single one of them by order of the shadow empress.

"Monster!" Elpis smiled when she heard the only living knight falls on his back, scared to his wits.

"I will let you live this time just because I need you to tell your superior of what just happened here. Tell your leader that Elpis send her regards to the high priest." Elpis turned her back to the holy knight, but then she realised she forgot to mention something crucial.

"Tell your king that if he wants to survive this war, form an allegiance with the Empire and maybe I will spare him and his family from death. The only rules I implied is simple; I want the first princess of the Holy Kingdom to be my successor, the bloody devil knight, Lady Isadora Mercer's concubine." The dame was surprised.
