To say Jungkook was nervous, it was an understatement. His heart was beating in his chest faster than a speeding car. 'If I mess this up, he's going to have my head on a silver platter.' Jungkook thought.
"What are your plans regarding my daughter?" Antonio asked with menacing eyes.
Jungkook decided that honesty was the best policy. "I haven't thought that far along. I love her, honestly. I'm too young to tie the knot right now."
Antonio understood his point of view. He was like any other father that wanted to see his daughter settled down with someone who would put her above anything else. He won't leave the house until he was sure Jungkook was the right guy for her. "I understand where you are coming for. You also have to understand that Kara is everything to me."
"I know sir. I won't do anything to hurt her. I will take care of her and I'll always respect her. More than that, I don't know what I could do."
Antonio had to smile at that. "Your honesty is refreshing young man. I do have to say, I'm not getting any younger. I do want my grand kids."
Jungkook laughed. Seeing Antonio smile, he relaxed. "I'll see what I can do about that."
"There is another thing I noticed about you. You want to be perfect at everything. There's nothing wrong with that."
"But?"
"But..." Antonio sighted. "Trying to be perfect at everything it only puts unnecessary pressure on you. Make sure you don't exhaust yourself."
"Will do."
"You'll have to come and visit soon. Her mother wants to meet you."
"We will. As soon as the things get somewhat in order, we will."
Antonio nodded. He went in the living room followed by Jungkook.
"I'm going back home. Now that I know my Kara is settled down and happy, I can go back to work without thinking about her safety."
"Pa, do you really have to? We barely spent time together. Besides, it's getting late." Kara pleaded with her father. She didn't want to let him leave so soon, not when he just got there.
"I know sweetheart." He wrapped her in a gentle hug. "I need to go. Your mother will kill me if I don't go back soon."
"I know. Tell her I love her."
"I will." He took a last look at Jungkook. "You have my blessing. You can date." He turn his attention back at her. "Honey, if you ever need something please call."
"I will pa. I love you."
"I love you too."
After Antonio left, the others were in the living room. The mood was bleak.
"Joon, can we talk?" Kara whispered.
Namjoon was already tired, and by the look of it, the others too. "Sure. Let's go in the office."
Kara followed him in the office; Namjoon sat on the chair behind the desk rubbing his temples. "What can I do for you?" he had a feeling that everybody wanted something from him. Being the leader was not always fun and games. It was hard dealing with everything and everyone.
"I don't know what my father told you, I..." She took a deep breath and continued. "He wants you to take his place when the right time comes."
Namjoon sighted. Another person that wanted something from him. "Why didn't he chose you?"
"I don't want it. I don't want it for Jungkook either."
"What makes you believe I want it?" He stared at her. Taking Antonio's place only meant more work he didn't want. He was okay with just being the leader of Bangtan.
"He thinks you're great for the job."
Namjoon felt her hesitance. "What do you think?"
Kara ran her hand through her hair. "I think you are a great leader. That work, that position, I wouldn't want it for anyone, not even my father. What we have here, is amazing. We need you. You saw how my father was today."
"He looked fine to me."
"He was. That job made him older than he is. I felt like he was hiding something from me. He wouldn't have come all the way here just for one day."
"I know you are worried. If there would have been a problem he would have told us."
"I know." Kara avoided his eyes. "Are you going to take it?"
Namjoon shrugged. "It's a tempting offer, but it's not for me." Kara relaxed and smiled. "I won't leave my boys."
"That's a good choice."
"I'm happy you are here though. Jungkook is happier since you barged in his life."
Kara grinned. "I hope so. Look at you how you accepted me." She smiled smugly. "You said I don't have a seat at your table."
Namjoon smiled. Kara saw that his smile did not touched his eyes. She felt bad for the pain he was in. "You do now. If I oppose, it will only break Kookie's heart. Is bad enough I have to go through that, I won't make him feel like this." Namjoon got up and left.
Kara was looking at the door and sighted. If Natasha and Namjoon weren't so damn stubborn, things would have been smother.
