"We're sure boss."
With that confirmation, I hung up the phone and placed it back in its hold.
The guys were looking at me attentively for details of the extraction.
I made some calls to get intel on the whereabouts of the exact location that Maggie was being held.
Turns out they played it smart and took her straight to the base, which according to the recon squad, seemed to be in the forest, far away from the city.
It would be difficult to pull an extraction without getting caught in a cross fire of gun fire.
The landscape was unpredictable and unknown. I would surely lose some men within the greenery.
But according to our intel, Maggie was not being relocated.
We had to get her from within the base and quickly. She wasn't even being fed.
She was proving to be uncooperative to the interrogators, a skill that our members were taught from young.
It was commendable. Maggie was strong.
My father holds no ill will towards her love to a member of the enemy.
He only hopes for her safe recovery.
And that's exactly what I'd see be done.
"Shes being held at their base to the south of the western community."
"But isn't that just forest?"
Jason was the first one to pick up on that since he was the main driver in our little clique.
"Thats precisely why we need another source of intel."
It goes without saying since our intel comes from someone that knew a great deal about their base. But not all that glitters is gold.
They all nodded.
"They have a few noobs, once we get a hold of them we can-"
"But noobs wouldn't have valuable information."
"I'm aware of that fact, I was going to suggest that we use the small fry to draw the big catch out and then squeeze the information out of him."
Evan mused over it and a look of understanding could be seen crawling onto his face.
Franklin, who was lent up against the wall decided to make a contribution to the group decision shortly after.
"So we jump them after school tomorrow somewhere near the parking lot so the message could travel quickly."
I cracked a grin.
"Precisely."
"Then they keep us entertained until the Vipers sends someone to retrieve them."
Once Tyler was finished with his statement, the sound of his cracking knuckles filled the room, bouncing off of the metal lined walls.
Our final plan would depend on the information we got from capturing the noobs and then the experienced member.
Because of this fact, we weren't in the official planning room, we were calmly seated in the living room of the gym, having a civilized conversation. Or so our city neighbors would believe.
If we got the noobs by Friday, then we would have the entire weekend to extract information. Which would lead to a closer extraction of Maggie, giving me more time to find Amber.
Tom didn't really contribute to the decision, it looked as if he and his girlfriend was going through a rough patch.
But I knew they would be alright within the next few hours.
Kent was unusually quiet. Amber was clearly on his mind.
Brad went back to the hotel after the little fit I threw a couple of hours ago. No doubt he was doing some digging on his own.
The only thing missing was the photographs of our soon to be captives.
Within the next day or so those images would be sent to our mobiles and then we'll begin the catch.
It was like an intense game of hide and seek until we find what we're looking for.
God help them if we don't.
I looked up to the clock in the wall.
1:05am.
"Alright guys, get some sleep."
Murmurs of agreement filled the air as I proceeded to do the exact opposite.
I won't stop until all my resources are completely exhausted.
I must find Amber.•~••~•~•~•*change in POV*•~•~•~••~•
I was dying of boredom. Roberto was gone for what literally felt like forever.
Thank god for the watch being preprogrammed or else I would have no idea what time it was.
That said, these people really messed my sleep schedule up.
Ly somehow found the cold floor comfortable but I couldn't relate.
My butt was frozen numb and even though Roberto slackened my shackles from onto the wall, it still held pretty tightly onto my hands and legs, so much so that my ankles and wrists were blistered red.
I was snapped out of my bored daze by a sudden noise.
I would've never thought that the sound of rattling keys could sound so heavenly but when Roberto walked in with a familiar duffle bag, a box of pizza and numerous other plastic bags, I couldn't help but see a bright ray behind him, similar to the one that follows Jesus.
"Your request has been granted. However you'll have to help blowing it up..."
"Blowing it up???"
He placed everything he was holding onto the floor and unshackled my hands.
He then handed me a plastic bag.
He took one for himself and emptied it on the ground.
It turned out to be an enflatable bed.
My bag had a similar pillow.
After successful blowing everything up, we (when I say we I actually mean Roberto because I barely blew anything) positioned it in the corner to my right.
Next, he unshackled Maggie and placed her to the right of the sideward facing bed.
He then readjusted my shackles so that I could also access the bed.
Ly was also moved a bit to the right.
"I could only get you guys one pillow..."
He sounded disappointed in himself.
I sent it a wholehearted and appreciative smile and gave his shoulder a little squeeze for extra reassurance.
"Oh that's fine. I appreciate everything you've done for us."
My reassurance seemed to work because he perked up and his steps got a little bounce.
"I got the clothes as well."
He passed me the duffle bag.
Once I opened it I could instantly tell who packed it.
I didn't know if to feel angry or happy.
"Luke took you to my house. Didn't he?"
He stumbled a bit back in his step.
"Yes, how did you know?"
"I just did."
I lied.
I knew because it was his bag.
I knew because it was packed just like my closet.
I knew because it had more than just my clothes.
I knew because he packed my favorites.
Only Luke could pay attention to such small details.
This finalized it.
I was at the Vipers base.
Luke was a member of this gang.
I'm here because of him.
"Amber can I be honest?"
Maggie was now laying on the bed, still sleeping away her sorrows, the pizza was in the top left and Roberto and I occupied the small remainder.
He did so much for me. I could at least be a listening ear. So I nodded.
"Yeah sure."
"I always thought Luke had feelings for you,"
Where did this come from?
"So when I saw him making out with Kim earlier today, I thought maybe she was his rebound..."
He was doing what?....with who?
"But when I went back up, I heard that the party going on right now was a celebration for Kim and Luke's official engagement."
Official...engagement...?
"I honestly felt relieved. I realized that he isn't such a bad guy after all. He even took me to your house. No worries though, he gave me the key to give back to you, I guess he really doesn't have feelings for you anymore."
He doesn't have...feelings, for me?
He was officially engaged?
To Kim?
This was all too much.
"Do you think...we could-"
My head started to spin.
I could see Roberto's blurred movements.
His lips were moving and his eyes were wide. He was too late.
I was already crashing to the floor.
I fell.
But this time, it wasn't in love.-------------------------------------------------------------
