"Babe you wouldn't believe who's back,"
Who was back?
Wait. Who was 'babe'?
Who was talking to 'babe'?
I'm thinking alcohol should seriously be illegal by now.
I mean, all it does is cause disorientation and long lasting pain.
So tell me why us youngsters drink it every chance we get?
Simply because the adults say not to.
Maybe if billboards had actual diagrams of lungs after excessive drinking rather than half naked models, the number of alcoholic youngsters would decrease.
It dawned to me that the speaker could've been speaking to me.
"Hey hunny, wake up you have a visitor,"
After hearing the first bit I thought I was married, but once I heard the second bit I felt like a prisoner.
Perhaps, this person that was so eager to wake me up was my assigned prison guard.
But I didn't hear her open any cell gates or put in any passcodes to unlock my cell.
She simply smacked me in the face.
"Who the f-"
"Oh shut up. It was a little tap, now go get dressed, someone's here to see you,"
Once my eyes had adjusted to the brightness of the room, I realized I was here once before. As to why I was butt naked in the extremely large bed, well I don't know.
Nevertheless, a outfit was laying on the chair right beside me and whisking could be heard coming from the kitchen.
For some reason that made me dress a bit quicker.
I made my way down to the living room silently. I was so intent on going down to the bunkers and washing off whatever happened last night in my own shower that I hadn't seen him until he spoke.
"Damn bro. Not even a glance."
I knew that voice. That was...
"Keith?"
"Luke?"
My fist were folded before I could register what was about to happen.
What I felt next was a throbbing pain throughout my knuckles as emotions from somewhere deep inside exploded.
"You sold her out!"
"You have to understand man."
"You snitched Keith."
"I know I know... I'll make it up to you guys.. I was drunk and and and it just slipped out."
"You can't make it up to us. There is no us. I'm engaged to Kim and Amber is chained up in the basement."
Keith processed everything.
"I'm so sorry. But I thought you loved her man."
I did too.
"Some things aren't meant to be."
Amber was as good as dead by now. The least I could do is ensure that Gina and James stayed alive.
Speaking of... Shit.
James was probably ringing my phone down... the phone that I left in the bunkers... Not to mention Gina has probably already pasted by my school for the morning.
They just got back from an overseas wedding. They didn't deserve this headache so soon.I needed to get back to school. I already missed Wednesday and most of Tuesday.
I needed to get there now.
Leaving Keith confused, I ran down to the bunkers and took a quick shower.
After changing, I grabbed my phone and ran to my car, ignoring the guys hails.
I made it there for third period, using the excuse of my car breaking down along the way. When in truth, the only thing that happened along the way was me being grounded by my foster parents via the cell phone.
Lunch break came quickly and now I had to try my best to avoid anyone that Amber knew.
Easier said than done.
"Hey Luke! Just the guy I was looking for. Have you seen Amber?"
Drew, I think his name was spoke in an awfully serious tone.
He and his guys made sure to block my way, in the front and back might I add.
"No."
I made my lie simple. Well in truth I haven't seen her since Tuesday so technically it wasn't a lie.
"You sure you don't know where she is?"
Kent spoke next. His tone was filled with sincere worry.
I felt sympathetic. If only he knew that his sister was gone forever.
But as I fell into deep emotion, I felt my facade fading. So much so that Drew's glare intensified.
My next lie had to seal the deal or I'd be in big trouble.
"I haven't seen her since Tuesday, she hasn't come home either."
Again, I didn't lie. The best way to lie is to manipulate the truth I guess.
Drew stepped aside to let me pass, a chance I was ready to take, until Kent grabbed by hand.
"Please, if you hear anything, let me know okay? She's the only family I got."
It sounded like he was about to cry.
But my own family's lives were at risk.
I gave a stiff nodd and walked into the canteen.
I see Claire eating what could potentially be the delivery guy I heard about's face.
I wasn't one to judge but I didn't peg her for such a relationship wizard.
I had no problem slipping past her or anyone else for that matter.
I didn't see Zac or any of the others either.
They probably ditched, as usual.
Unlike me. I spent the day like a normal high school student.
While my problems laid heavier than any science textbook on my shoulders.•~••~•~•~•*change in POV*•~•~•~••~•
"Their cars weren't in the parking lot."
"So in essence, we wasted an entire day."
I made some turns before going to school.
But nobody knew where Amber was.
So you could imagine my displeasure.
But then, I reached to school to see Luke.
The boy that Amber was so hopelessly in love with.
The pathetic scum bag that hurt her.
The same one she forgave less than a week later.
The most aggravating part is that he looked fine. He didn't look worried or even tired.
That shows that she doesn't matter to him.
And when I find her, she'll never be allowed to see his face again.
To add more displeasure, the guys we were supposed to snatch to get information about Maggie's whereabouts didn't even show up at school.
"Apparently, the group of them ditched to go skinny dipping..."
I had Brad acquire some information from the girls around the school since he's a ladies man. Well boy technically.
"We grab them tomorrow, in the parking lot. Also, I got the picture of the member were looking to draw in. His name is Rex.
At third period, Tom will plant a note in Rex's locker telling him to meet try noobs, Simon, Mac and Jones in try parking lot to talk about something important. The noobs pull into school at lunch time always according to the girls so we'll hide our faces and grab them right when Rex comes out.
Rex will see this and try to come after us.
He'll fail.
With his reputation, he won't wait for backup. We'll leave him a not-"
"But why not grab Rex right there?"
"Because then they'll know it's information we're looking for. If we grab the noobs, they'll probably consider it a little act of revenge since their troublemakers,"
"Ohhhh I understand. So we leave him a note for a staged ransom, and him be in who he is, he'll come alone and then we'll grab him there instead."
"Precisely."
Brad was young, but he was smart.
It made me glad that he could follow in the plan with such ease.
I had high hopes for him.
