"Any sign of him?"
"Yes boss. He drove by the spot a few minutes ago,"
Great. Rex took the bait. He was scouting.
Either to inform his guys or to familiarize himself with his own playing field.
"Any update on the other?"
"He was seen going to school yesterday after lunch and went straight home after. This morning he left and drove along the main highway, towards the forest. He left there and went back home shortly after picking up a parcel,"
If he went to the forest then we could only assume that he was going to the Vipers base. Which meant that he was part of the gang.
Or he could've just gone hiking.
But I highly doubt that.
As much as I want to bring him in, Maggie came first.
As soon as this extraction was over, he was surely being brought in.
But until then, I'd stay here and juice as much information as possible out of these small fry until we caught the bigger one.
So far, we got a rough sketch of the base layout.
The locations of the doors, staircases, major rooms and even the bathrooms.
All of which was good but not necessarily important. But I guess we needed a full layout in order to find the route we would take.
We of course double checked the information given by each captive with the information given by another for further verification.
Now, I was making dinner as we prepared to meet Rex and potentially his comrades.
Brad would take his car, one that was never driven to school and I would take another.
Evan, Cooper and Jason already took a car and was in position waiting.
They obviously hid the car and themselves very well.
The only think to do next was to wait for the call from Jason that we should be getting in the next fifteen minutes with the details.
Brad was dressing and Tom, Tyler and Franklin was taking turns watching over the captives, betting on how long they stayed asleep for.
The call came shortly after I was done baking the shepherd pies.
"Hes here with two duffle bags that don't seem to be empty. He came with his car. He took the bags out the back, nobody is in there. The trunk is locked so I don't think anyone is in there either. He came directly from the highway. Waiting to engage."
Once he had hung up, Brad and I got into our vehicles and took two separate routes.
I took the coastal route and Brad drove through the back streets.
He called me once he there to tell me if there was any cars or trunks along the streets.
I then called Jason to let him know that Rex appeared to have come alone.
Once I was parked, I went directly to the others.
Rex would naturally demand to see his comrades but we have the upper hand.
With a simple call, Brad would give Rex proof of life.
He would have to settle for that, or lose three members of his gang.
It wasn't going to be like in those poorly financed movies.
The robber was not going to bring the captives out on a bridge and both parties was not going to perform hand-to-hand.
In the real world somebody always had the upper hand. And in this case it was us.
From our spot, we could see the entire strip of beach.
There were spots of people here and there and Rex continuously looked around anxiously.
So anxiously that Brad walked right up to him and said 'boo' and he jumped three feet in the air. He then attempted to pull out his gun but Brad shook his head.
"You wanna pull out your gun amongst all these civilians? Really? I'm in a beach shorts! I couldn't possibly have a gun. What  I do have is a phone."
He then pat himself down and pulled out his phone.
Rex moved his hand from his pocket and spoke.
"Where are they?"
"Soon to be released once I have the money."
Brad's tone didn't waver one bit.
"But how do I know you wouldn't kill them after getting the money? How do I know their even alive right now?"
"I can give them a call to solve the latter but the former would depend on trust and how much you really want them back."
Rex contemplated for a while.
Brad didn't rush him. He let him think.
"Call them."
Brad quickly dialed the phone in the torture room. I wasn't really sure whether Tom, Tyler or Franklin had answered but I knew Rex had heard his comrades voice because I heard him ask them if they were alright.
He also called them idiots for being captured.
Once the call was done, Brad and Rex had almost reached the jump spot.
Brad had successful kept him walking at a slow pace.
Out of nowhere, Rex punched Brad in the stomach. Before he could land another attack, Evan and Jason jumped down, masked and ready.
I jumped down last and delivered the last blow while the others crowded us to prevent suspicion.
We walked up the banks and of the stream and loaded Rex into my car.
Evan stayed with me in my car while Cooper went with Brad to make sure he was okay.
Jason took the car he and the others came in.
We did the usual 'everyone take a different route and make no less than two loops' before we made it back to the gym.
Rex, like the others, was placed in his own cell. This way he couldn't see or hear the others.
Nobody mentioned his capture to his comrades, simply to allow untainted information to be supplied.
If they knew he was here, they might not cooperate and even try to escape.
However, the torture chamber could easily house twenty comfortable captives.
So there was no way they could even smell each other.
Once we were back, I served dinner and monitored the chamber from the planning rooms' surveillance tv.
There were cameras everywhere.
Even along the city streets.
Our entire perimeter was guarded.
From the port straight to the city.
The only place that was out of bounds was the west side of the island.
Hence us having to hire some people to keep an eye on Luke and the western side.
It was about time to pay Rex a little visit.
I picked up the keys from on the desk and made my way down the spiral stairs and onto the torture chamber floor.
I grabbed the leather parcel from in the table in the corner and made my way down the hallway.
Once I was near his cell, I heard his chains stop moving. He was probably trying to escape before he heard me coming.
His dark clothes was stained with blood clusters and his hair was surprisingly still semi combed.
I placed the parcel onto his built-in iron table. It was placed in the corner where the captives couldn't possibly reach as said captives are chained in the centre of the back wall.
The parcel held all the tools one would need to successful extract intel.
All was which were still freshly tainted with his comrades blood.
"I'm not telling you a thing."
We'll surely see about that.
That we shall.
