"They'll put her on board at 2:45am, together with whatever other illegal cargo their carrying over."
Both guys nodded as I continued to drive.
We were on the main route now, six lane traffic.
The south of the mainland was mountainous.
There were a few hills to the south east but none compared to the ones the highway was built along.
The road resembled a slithering snake, nearly entirely masked by greenery.
The curves make the distance far longer than it essentially needed to be.
But nevertheless, the wait to be cleared to even enter the docking station rivaled the time it took to cross the distance.
"Keep in mind they'll obviously send some guys to watch over the delivery."
The only response I got was the sound of sharpening knives.
Guns would be a bit too obnoxious in this case.
The boat was too small for a gun shot to go unheard or unfelt.
Other than what little information we had, we knew basically nothing.
We knew that she was being put on the Arachne, if you couldn't tell, the boat was named after the Greek mythological spider as it's eight oars gives it such an appearance.
We also knew that time she was being boarded.
But that was about it.
We didn't know if they had her with the cargo, or amongst the one thousand and five hundred people, or even in a vehicle on the parking lot floor.
There was only three of us...
There was no way we could search the bottom two floors and the top two passenger floor before the boat landed.
Getting onto the boat itself will be a challenge on its own.
Vipers owned the boat.
To get to the mainland, people from Purvis, the north pole, usually get my dad to send private yachts to the west of the island.
By the time the Vipers found out it landed on the shores, it's passengers would've already been on their way to town.
I believe that's why they set up base in the southwest forest. That way they could act faster on the people being brought in by means they didn't approve of.
The Vipers charge hefty prices to the people and only take them to south pole.
People have no choice but to pay as the Vipers made the south pole the centre of trade and commerce.
Nearly everyone in the mainland had family out working at the ports or in the plantation fields of the south pole.
That's why the mainland is more urbanized and developed than the south pole.
The north pole also takes part in agriculture, but without the slavery.
On Purvis, rye and rice is planted along the coast after the boarder of mangrove which prevents erosion.
Both these crops is used to feed the population and is traded for ground provisions such as dashine, eddos, sweet potatoes, cassava from the mainland.
Of course, this trade is always illegally done in the eyes of the Vipers, who even though is a gang, acts are the police, judge and jury.
Purvis, Polley and Purdy are totally secluded from any other island within a 58 mile radius.
Nobody that ever ventured out to discover any other island never ever returned.
All had been said to die.
Particularly because of the void in space that outlines the islands.
The water is brutally rough and hazardous large rocks protrude in odd alignment.
Divers claim that below the surface lays the shipwrecks of every ship that ever tried to leave the surrounding waters.
That was enough to keep nearly everybody away from ventured away from the coast.
Coincidentally, those thoughts was enough to keep me distracted from the thought of our near arrival.
We needed to get Amber back.
I needed to get Amber back.
Her half of the bargain was just about due.
I will get what's rightfully mine.•~••~•~•~•*change in POV*•~•~•~••~•
"That was great!"
I nodded. In stern disagreement might I add, but don't tell her that. Our secret.
"My tummy is a little empty now,"
She let out a girl giggle.
I sighed.
I'm guessing she wanted me to go get her ice cream or something.
But it wasn't time yet.
I needed to wait it out a bit longer.
I needed to stall.
So I rolled on top of her.
"Hey!
Luke! Come onnnn
You'll ruin my hair!"
I sniffed my laughter. Her hair was ruined long ago.
I pointed to the mirror on the wall, right next to the tv.
She gasped and ran to it, almost tripping over the puffy blanket, which made up majority of her body coverings.
Kim shamelessly looked at her reflection and gasped once again.
She then predictably attempted to tackle me on the bed.
I let her.
Anything to pass time.
I got an idea as she seductively whispered in my ears.
I wasn't even paying attention to what she was saying.
I simply responded with my idea.
"How about..."
I dragged my words out.
Her interest was instantly peaked.
"How about?"
She perked her elbows onto my chest in anticipation.
"How about.... I do over your hair, since I was partly responsible for its current state."
She scoffed.
"Partly responsible-"
"Yeah. In my defense, you wanted it pulled."
She cracked a dirty grin before jumping up and walking into 'our' walk in wardrobe.
She came out with a literal basket filled with what I assumed to be hair supplies.
After emptying it onto the bed, she started naming them.
"Hair removal cream,"
Huh????
"Charcoal facial masks,"
For what exactly?
"Curling iron,"
Now we're getting back on topic.
"Cocoa butter spot removing cream,"
Nope. Back off topic.
"Argan oil hairspray,"
Probably useful?
"Multivitamin hair food,"
Hair food? Okay this was getting crazy.
"Cherry flavoured shampoo,"
Whew. At least I knew what that was for.
Or did I?
"Vanilla and strawberry flavoured conditioner,"
No wonder she always seems fruity.
"Cucumber and olive steamer,"
Don't you like... steam things like buns...and pows? Why would you-
She then pointed over to her vanity.
"Over there is where I do my makeup but I won't bother explains anything to you.
You wouldn't understand anything."
Ouch but true.
I barely understood what most of these things she named was even for. Then girls say their not complicated.
I didn't think I would be going through with this.
But I needed to wait until they guys that were moving Amber, leave before I could get into position.
I couldn't believe that they chose six newbies to transport her.
But it was kind of understandable.
Rex, Jones, Simon and Mac was still missing.
Kim hastily sent Mark, Geo and three other noobs to scout and attack the false base I told her about.
It was kind of odd how she didn't question my intel. It was as if she had already known what i had told her.
As if I was just the confirmation she needed.
With all those guys gone, the only people that would be here would be Anzil, Fibro and Sando, the only three noobs that name I remembered other than Roberto himself, the chef, Kim, Kareem, Zac and myself.
Roberto, Kareem and Zac would be witnesses, the chef would be unconscious, the noobs would be fatally wounded( I hope) and Kim will be the last see the scene.
My death would be confirmed and everyone else will be knocked out.
The plan was straightforward.
I had an important part to play.
If I failed, I'd die. Simple as that.
Kind of like exams.
Fail them and you're doomed for eternity.
Even if you survive, It'll haunt you forever.
The past
will always reach the present.
