Chapter 17 🔞

Intimacy, no matter how long and in what form, has its necessity.  

Jin introduces JK. "This is Mr. Jeon, my other half, and the other half of JinKook software." The men stand and shake JK's hand. Ken bows. "Sorry I'm late. Dr. Taeil."  "No. Actually you are right on time. Mr. Kim was explaining his contribution to the JinKook software." Jin signals for the waiter to bring another chair for JK. The waiter brings the chair and Jin moves his chair next to JK's. "Mr. Jeon. Can you explain the foundation of the software layout?" Everyone is listening attentively as JK is talking about his layout. The doctors are in awe of how JK is well spoken and direct.   Jin hasn't taken his eyes off of JK's lips.

"Well Mr. Kim and Mr. Jeon, congratulations on our new endeavor." They all raise their glass and toast.  Jin winks at JK and JK smiles. "I will be in touch with your software consultant Mr. Kim Namjoon. It was nice meeting you Mr. Jeon and Mr. Kim.  And Dr. Ken, may I have a word with you?" Ken is trying to find the words to convey that he is sorry knowing that he purposefully excluded JK.  He was happy that Dr. Wooyoung called him to the side. It gave him more time to think.

"Dr. Ken I do believe you owe us an apology. You lied to me about Mr. Jeon's wellness. I can see the interest in Mr. Kim but as you can see, he seems very fond of Mr. Jeon. For the sake of your friendship, your career, and this organization, get yourself together and leave them be. I will be seeing you later." They all bow to Ken and leave. Ken looks at Jin and JK and sees how they are laughing and how they are hands-on with each other. He sighs and sees that he needs to let his desires for Jin go. Ken sits down and immediately Jin questions him.

"Ken, you told them Jungkook-ah was ill?" Before Ken could speak, JK interrupts. "I'm sorry Ken that my office misinformed you, but I took a day off for rest. I can see how you interpret that to mean I was ill."   "Mr. Jeon, I apologize." Ken says in relief. "It's understandable." JK tells Ken.  Jin knows JK is covering for Ken and he wants to know why but doesn't question JK. Jin makes an excuse to use the men's room. He senses that JK wants to talk with Ken privately.  "If you two will excuse me, I have to go to the men's room."  Jin leaves.

"Mr. Jeon, please forgive me." Ken apologizes again because he knows JK knows what his intentions were, and he needs to clear the air before Jin gets involve and it ends their friendship. "Ken, I've sat back silently and watched as you continued to play yourself into thinking Jin would actually choose you over me. Yes I got jealous and hurt at times when I saw him with you but every love we make, and every night we spend together have made me realize that there is no you and there never will be. I just helped you preserve your friendship with Jin. I could've let him embarrass the hell out of you in front of me and your colleagues. So, the only thing that is keeping you a friend and his doctor is me.  Do with that as you will."

"Mr. Jeon, I apologize for my unprofessional behavior,  violating Jin's and your relationship, and also violating Mr. Kim's and my friendship. I can promise you it will never happen again."

JK sips his wine and looks at Ken. "You're a handsome man Ken, I'm sure someone is out there for you." Jin returns to the table. "Sorry that took longer than I thought." Jin smiles at JK as JK gets up to leave.   "Well I have to leave. Ken it was nice to see you again and Jin, call me when you get settled." Jin kisses JK and watches him walk away as he admires him in his fitted suit. He turns to look at Ken. "I stand by everything Jungkook-ah said and I hope you stand by your words." Again, Jin's lip reading skills comes into good use. "I'm sorry Jin."   "Ken, why didn't you tell me that you had a crush on me. I would have saved you the trouble."    "I saw you again after all those years and I knew then that I never let my feelings for you go. I should've said something, I just didn't want to ruin our friendship."    "Ken, you are a treasured friend, but if you ever try to pull something like that again to hurt JK, it will be more than our friendship you will have to worry about. Now, can you handle being my friend and my doctor?"   "Yes Jin, You and Mr. Jeon have my word."
