Chapter 34

JK helps Daniel into the guest room and leaves him there to sleep. He goes back to his room and receives a text on his cell phone from Jackson rescheduling their luncheon for the following day. JK goes back to sleep.  It's 12pm when he awakens again and he gets up and sees that Daniel is still asleep. He wakes up Daniel and gives him two pain pills. "Thanks Mr. Jeon." "No problem. Maybe you should shower and get yourself together. There are some clothes in the guestroom and a new toothbrush in the bath. When you're finished, I'll be waiting for you for lunch."  "Okay." Daniel takes the medication and gets up to shower and dress. "Daniel finishes and he looks and feels much better.  He joins JK for lunch.

"What happened Daniel?"  Daniel sighs and without hesitation, talks to JK.  "My mom told me about the death of Mr. Yung, my father." Daniel says with bitterness. "To find out that that man was my father, and to hear all the evil shit he did to my mom, you, and Mr. Kim was devastating. I couldn't accept the fact that I'm the child of someone like that. So, I got drunk." "Daniel, you put yourself in a dangerous situation." "I know. I'm sorry. Thanks for coming to get me. I know it was late and an inconvenience." "Don't worry about the inconvenience, but if you're going to be a mentor for this project, I think using better ways to deal with your problems is paramount." "I know Mr. Mr. Jeon, one evidence is apparent this morning." Daniel rubs his temple. "It won't happen again Mr. Jeon." "Good, because Mr. Kim signed off on your project. This project needs your full attention and devotion. This is all you Daniel."   "Thank you Mr. Jeon. Thank Mr. Kim for me. I need to phone my mom and tell her the good news."

JK smiles as Daniel walks away. JK goes into his office and looks over some files. Afterwards, he joins Daniel in the game room, and they become competitive with each other. JK's monitor states, "Incoming call from Kim SeokJin."   "Answer."    "Jungkook-ah."   "Jin." JK turns to Daniel while switching the call to his cell phone. "We have to do this over, I was distracted." JK says while walking out of the room to talk to Jin. "Did I interrupt you?" "No. It's just me and Daniel in the game room." "Daniel? The student who has a crush on the teacher." "Jealous?" "Should I be?" JK lets out a small laugh.  "I will let you get back to your guest. Love you Jungkook-ah." "Love you too Jin." JK hangs the phone up and goes back into the game room with a big smile on his face.

"That was Mr. Kim, right?"   "Yes."  "Did you thank him for me?"    "Damn it. Next time I talk to him I will."   "I'm happy Mr. Kim makes you happy. I hope I find someone that'll make me feel the same way."  JK looks at Daniel who is still playing the game. "You're a smart, handsome guy with other worthy attributes. You will find someone." "Thanks Mr. Jeon. Now can you please log back on, so I finish kicking your ass." JK laughs, logs back on, and they continue the game. Later, JK takes Daniel to his car and they part ways. JK made it back home and he and Erin have dinner together.

"Mr. Jeon, there is a special friend I would like for you to meet." JK nods his head.  "I always wondered what you did with your off days. I will be happy to meet your special  friend. Let's say dinner tomorrow, on me?" "Sounds nice. Thanks." After Dinner JK showers and watches a movie. He falls asleep with Jin on his mind. Jin had been in meetings all day and except for that one phone call earlier, they hadn't communicated.  

The next day, JK is working from home and is absorbed in his work when he is alerted by his phone monitor. He looks at the time and notices it is 1PM. "Incoming call, Jackson Wang." "Answer, Jack what's up?" "Were you asleep?" "No, I been up. What's up?" JK is asking as he realizes the answer before Jackson speaks. "Lunch. Our lunch. I hope you didn't forget, I'm only in Busan for a couple of hours." "Alright, I'm on my way."

JK leaves to meet Jackson for lunch. They greet each other upon JK's arrival. "Jackson, long time."   "It feels that way. Where is that handsome fiancé of yours?"  "Back in Seoul."   "Can we order? I'm hungry." Jackson stomach growls. "Yep." JK laughs. They order, and start talking.  JK phone rings. "Hey Tae."    "What's up. You still in Busan?"    "Yeah."   "What's up Tae?" Jackson blurts out. "Put Jackson on." Tae tells JK. JK hands the phone to Jackson.  Tae and Jackson talk and then Jackson hands the phone back to JK. "Tae, I hope this is a personal and not a business call."    "I was just calling to let you know that I'll be in Busan tomorrow. Just to visit. I miss you man."   "JK laughs."   "Then I'll see you tomorrow Tae."

They hang up and JK and Jackson finish their lunch and part ways. JK goes by the market to pick up food to cook for Erin's dinner date. He returns home and starts cooking while Erin leaves in his own personal car to meet his friend at the train port. He arrives back home and JK smiles upon meeting Erin's friend. "Jada, what a pleasant surprise."   "Mr. Jeon." Jada greets JK. "Please Jada, its JK, especially to family."   "My apology. Nice to see you again JK."  After Jada freshen up, Erin shows her to the table and pulls out her seat. She sits and they start enjoying their meal.  "So, Jada, what a beautiful woman like yourself doing with this guy?" Jada looks at Erin and smiles. "I couldn't resist his charm and handsomeness." "that he has and is." JK teasingly states. "I first met her at the hospital. I was really in awe of her mannerism, beauty, voice, and her shyness. She is simply perfection." Erin says with love as Jada looks at Erin and lets out a small laugh. JK smile as he watches them flirt. They continue eating, drinking, and enjoying the evening. Afterward, they sit in the living room area.

I think Jin has competition in cooking, everything was delicious." "Thank you Jada. But I think Jin wins, his skills are unmatched." JK smiles thinking about Jin. "Thank you for inviting me to dinner tonight." Jada tells JK as she and Erin say goodnight to JK.  "You're welcome. It was a pleasure having you join me." Erin takes Jada by the hand. "I will see you in the morning JK." JK watches as Erin and Jada walk into Erin's part of the house. JK smiles and thinks to himself. 'All this time, who would have thought to put those two together. They fit so well.'  JK smiles and goes upstairs to his room and shower. He wants to feel Jin's touch. He reminisces about them having snow-sex and falls asleep. 

 JK wakes up early the next morning in a cold sweat, he is coughing, aching, and feeling like he can hardly breathe. It is hard for him to fall back to sleep although he feels drowsy. He phones his doctor who is in Busan at one of his clinics. JK can barely dress himself because of the fatigued and pain. Erin and Jada take him to the clinic. He is diagnosed with dehydration, influenza, and upper respiratory infection. He is treated and given an order for bed rest. JK makes it home and calls Tae and tells him not to visit due to his flu. He hangs up with Tae and goes to sleep.

Jada makes JK some soup and wakes him up to take his medication and to eat. 'I appreciate this Jada. But I really don't want to make you sick too."   "I'll be fine. I have an active natural immune response, where my body resists the virus."  "Well thanks for the soup."   "You're welcome. Should I call Jin?"   " No. I'll call him before I go back to sleep."  "Okay, I have to leave. I made extra soup and put your next dosage of medication on your bedside table. Take care okay."   "Thank you Jada. It was nice seeing you again." After he takes his medication and eats the soup, he goes back to sleep. He doesn't hear his phone monitor. "Incoming call Kim SeokJin."

Jin phones again and no answer. He phones Erin but Erin is in a bad reception area and the call goes to voicemail. Hours later, Jin arrives at JK's penthouse. He goes to JK's bedroom and sees JK sleep and sweating profusely. He touches JK and JK is hot and clammy. JK opens his eyes and sees Jin.

We're taking our last turn before we head down the road to our destination.  Fate will determine the rest of the journey.
