Chapter 29

A shorter chapter than usual 

When JK left Jin earlier, Jin phone had rung and it was Yoongi. "Jin, I got your message. You found Ken?" Yoongi states. "Actually, JK did." Jin proudly states. "I will tell my guys to back off." "Thanks Yoongi for your help."   "No problem."

Jin had gotten dress and went to his office. "Good afternoon Jisoo, bring my schedule in for today." "On my way Mr. Kim." She came into Jin's office and informed him of his schedule. "Thanks Jisoo." "Off the record, I hope someone beats the shit out of Ken. I love you Jin. You are like a brother to me and I've tried to stay quiet, but it hurts." Jin got up and handed Jisoo some Kleenex and hugged her. "I'm fine Jisoo. Thanks to Jungkook-ah, you, and Hoseok, I'm fine. So, try to stop crying, we still have work to do."    "Okay. Let me get myself together."   "Afterwards, can you bring me the Adamah file?"   "Yes Mr. Kim." They looked at each other and smiled.

After working for some hours, Jin managed to close four files. He looked at his watch and left work. He returned home and JK was not there. He phoned him three times and no answer. He phoned Erin no answer. Jin was in panic mode. He was about to leave to find JK when JK walks through the door. His long wool coat covers his hand so Jin doesn't see the wrap on it. Jin grabs JK face and immediately starts kissing him. Jin notices that JK is a little sluggish. He searches JK body with his eyes and notices his hands. "What happened Jungkook-ah?"   "I'm fine Jin. I just took some pain meds and I'm drowsy."  

Jin bathes JK and lays him down to sleep. He places JK's swollen, fractured hand on a pillow. He goes and makes soup for JK for when he wakes up, then he goes to his office for a teleconference meeting and hears JK moan in pain. He checks in on JK who is still asleep and lies down beside him staring at him. He knows what JK has been up to and had decided not to get involved. He trusts that JK knows what he is doing, but he didn't want JK to get hurt. Throughout the night Jin is awaken by JK moaning from the pain. He, at one point, wakes JK up to take more meds and JK goes back to sleep. Jin gets up and goes and lie down on the settee because he doesn't want to wake JK or accidentally cause him pain.

Its 7am and Jin's phone ring, its Yoongi. They talked for a little while, then Jin dresses, makes breakfast for JK, and takes it to the room . He kisses the scar on JK's face and JK opens his eyes and smiles at Jin. "Jwekey."    "It's morning already?"   "Yes. How are you feeling?"   "I'm fine. Thanks for taking care of me."   "Always. I brought up breakfast. Let me help you up." Jin feeds JK. Afterwards, Jin gives JK his pain pills.

"You're leaving." JK asks Jin. "Yes. I'll take it from here. Even though I love how sexy you look when you're being a bad ass, I hate seeing you in pain."   "Jin, promise me one thing. When this is over, you will take us away from here for a while and we focus on us."   "Promise."   "Be careful Jin."   "I will try my best. My love, please rest and call me if you need me." Jin leaves and phones Yoongi. "Who is the person?"   "Jay Yo Kim." Yoongi tells Jin. "Where is he now?"    "At Jack's, sitting at table 3, I'll let you know if any movement is made by him."   "Thanks."

Yoongi had phoned Jin earlier about a tip he received that Ken hired someone to go after JK.  Jay Yo Kim was a known operative on Will Yung's payroll. Jin hangs up with Yoongi and phones the Chief to tell him about the tip Yoongi received. Jin arrives at Jack's and approaches table 3. "Are you Jay?"    "Yes."   Jin delivers three jabs to Jay's face. Before Jay can react or take in what is happening, the Chief comes and stops Jin. The Chief orders his men to arrest Jay. "Jin, we've talked about this. We have protocols damn it."    "Are you arresting me?"   "No, but do not tempt me."    "Am I free to go?"    "For now Jin. But I want you at my office later. I will need a statement from you."

Jin walks away from the Chief and goes and gets into his car. His phone rings. It Yoongi again. "Where is he?" Jin asks Yoongi. "At the Shiloh Hotel in Busan. Suite 666."   "666, It suits him well." Jin says in an angered tone. "Ken still has you listed as his spouse, so easy access should be granted." "Again, thanks Yoongi, and thank your guys for me." "Will do, be careful."

It's 5pm when Jin arrives in Busan. Jin and Caso walks into the Shiloh Hotel. The clerk recognizes Jin. "Good Evening Mr. Kim, may I assist you with anything." "I'm to meet my husband Dr. Kim here." The clerk accesses info on the computer, although the clerk is puzzled with the news of him and JK's engagement and Dr Ken Kim being listed as his husband, he notes the information on the system. "Mr. Kim, Dr. Kim is in our conference room in a private meeting. You are welcome to wait in his suite."   "Please."   "Here is the room card. Should I inform him you have arrived."   "No, it's a surprise, it will not be necessary."   "Enjoy your night, Mr. Kim." The clerk politely smiles at Jin. "Thanks." Jin leaves the clerk and walks over to Caso. "Watch the entrance. If he tries to leave, bring him to me."   "Yes, got it."

Jin gets on the elevator and phones the Chief. "Did Jay talk?"   "More than expected. Confessed to being hired by Ken to go after JK. But where are you?"   "Busan."   "Jin, think before you do something. Busan is not my jurisdiction. Whatever you do, it will be left up to the authorities in Busan to determine the consequences of your action."    "Then Chief, I suggest you call them in an hour." Jin hangs up.

Jin makes it into the room. He walks around the room and sees Ken's briefcase lying open. He looks around in it and notice wrapped in a side pocket of the briefcase a vial filled with a clear liquid. Jin picks it up and it has his named labeled on it. He puts the vial in his pocket. Jin sees a phone in the brief case and is able to look through it. He sees that Jay Yo Kim was the last call made from it on yesterday. Jin looks further and finds photos and the full recording dated the night of the incident. He listens and notices that the version Ken sent JK was edited. Jin sits in a chair in the living area and waits. About 20 minutes later Ken walks in the room and takes off his doctor's coat. "Honey, you're home." Jin sarcastically says.
