Chapter 24

"I called you Jin. Why didn't you answer?"   "I know. I just needed to get some things done." Jin says in an effort to alleviate any of JK's concerns. "Things done, as in what? You never ignored my calls before."   "I'm sorry Jungkook-ah." Jin walks closer to JK and as he gets closer, he can feel the tension in JK and hears a hurt in his voice. "Sorry for what Jin, making me worry? Having me call around to everyone you know and hearing that they talked to you? I called to the hotel you were staying at, like I'm some fucking parent checking in on their child. What Jin?"

"Jungkook-ah."  "Don't fucking call me, Jungkook-ah."   "Please calm down."  Jin wants to touch JK and just hold onto him. He has seen JK like this before, and it was when JK ended it between them, the only difference now is that JK's eyes seems to show a deeper hurt.  He and JK are standing face to face. Jin tries to touch JK, JK moves. Jin looks behind JK and there on the stairs are photos of him and Ken having sex. He looks back at JK who is crying. He tries to grab and hug JK but JK tussled his way out of Jin's grasp. "Don't touch me. Don't you fucking touch me"

"I'm sorry JK Just please hear me out on this. I know you know I would never do something like this to hurt you intentionally. I love you so much JK, you are my life. Something happened and I don't know what."    "You fucked him Jin, that's what happened, you fucked him. Just say it. You. fucked. Ken." JK screams.  Jin sits on the stairs and stares at JK, his heart is breaking, and he sees in JK eyes that he has lost him again. He just stares at JK. JK picks up the picture and slings them one by one as if he is throwing a disc at Jin while distinctly pronouncing each word he loudly say to Jin. "Say. It. Damn it. You. Fucked. Ken.

As the corner of each photo hits Jin sharply in his chest, he stands up and grabs JK into an embrace and holds him as JK cries and tries to move away from him. Jin grip gets tighter. Jin cries. "Admit it Jin, I'm not stupid, just admit it Jin, the obvious, admit it." JK screams.

Jin can't help but admit the obvious. "I fucked him JK. I'm sorry. I so sorry JK. I fucked him." Jin cries because he knows that it is his fault that he has lost JK again. "I'm in love with you JK. Please don't do this. Believe me, I would never intentionally hurt you. I love you." JK moves out of Jin's grip. "Is this what love sounds like?" JK presses play on the recorder. JK places the recorder down while it's plays and places his engagement ring on top of the recorder. Jin hears the sounds from the sex on the recorder but his focus is on JK walking away from him and heading toward the door. He grabs the recorder and throws it against the wall causing it to break. .He sat on the stairs and stares at the door where JK had just walked out of.

Months has passed since JK's and Jin's confrontation. Jin is back at work doing his usual meetings and work. He thinks of JK so much it sometimes distracts him. JK moved out of Seoul. He wanted to escape a place that caused him so much heartache and pain. JK thinks about Jin but he distracts himself by working on the Kang Project for fatherless young men. Daniel has become the President of Kang Project after he graduated from college. He and JK is meeting with investors.

"Mr. Jeon, Mr. Kang, and Mr. Taehyung nice to meet you three. Please have a seat. We have looked over your project and have an interest in investing in it. We looked at other investors and are pleased with your choices, but we have been bought by Mr. Kim SeokJin of Kim's Conglomerate and his accountant will have to look into the numbers and decide on this proposal. "Well thank you for your time Mr. Sanyo, but we will withdraw your company from being a prospective investor.  Have a nice day gentleman." Daniel declares. Tae looks at JK and both look impressed at Daniel owning the room. Daniel bows and He, Tae, and JK walk out.

JK looks at Daniel and complimented him. "That was really impressive, how you handled that." Tae, with curiosity, asks Daniel a question. "But why did you withdraw the consideration?" "Mr. Jeon and Mr. Taehyung, I maybe young but I understand what's going on. I notice how you've been since your breakup with Mr. Kim. I wouldn't torment you with having to ask him for help." "But Daniel this is a business venture." JK tells Daniel. "I know but for you, its personal. Now shall we do lunch, I'll buy." Daniel answers as he smiles. JK smiles back at Daniel. "Since you're buying, we'll accept." The three enjoys lunch but Daniel leaves early.

"Have you thought about Jin?"   "Tae please not now."   "JK that business proposal was the most important one for the Kang Project. As you told Daniel, business is business. Think of Daniel and the amount of work he put into this project. Opportunities like this don't come often. Don't you think you are being selfish?"  "Selfish. That's such a strong word Tae."   "Put it this way. Daniel is willing to sacrifice the project for the sake of you. What are you willing to sacrifice?" JK looks up at Tae and back down at his dessert."   "Maybe your pride would've been a good answer JK. Maybe it's time to think about Daniel and not yourself. I'll see you later JK." JK watches Tae walk away. He knows Tae is upset with him. He thinks about what Tae said but the thought of him asking Jin for anything irks him."

Jin meets with Hoseok for dinner. "Hey bro. Long time no see."   "Hoseok, how's it going with you and Jennie?"   "Very well. Everything about her is just uniquely beautiful."   "Nice to hear it."    "How have you been holding up?" Hoseok smiles at Jin. "I'm not sure Hoseok. It's just something about that night."   "You sounded fine when we talked that night. Nothing in your voice seemed off."    "I know. I got up from the table, and upon returning, I examined my drink, and nothing seemed unusual.  Shit is just not adding up to me."  "You said the doctor found nothing in your system?"    "Nothing."   "Have you found Ken?"   "No. But Yoongi is working on it."

"Jin, I know you wouldn't willingly betray yourself or JK."    "Hoseok, how did I let something like this happened to me? This is me. I'm so sure and very careful about my surrounding. Now this. It's hard sometimes to look at myself. This happened to me."  Jin deeply sighs.   "Jin. I don't know how you feel, I'm not going to pretend I do. But what happened to you has and can happen to anyone. We are not immune from the misdeeds of others, regardless of our social class, our competencies, or who we are.  You are still Jin. Do not let what happened to you define you. Do not give him control over you. Remember how you broke down JK's wall he built up after what almost happened to him. You didn't see him as just a victim, you saw him as JK, no matter how humiliated he felt. He took it out on you, like you are taking this out on yourself. You told him what happened to him was not his fault. I want to tell you Jin, what happened to you is not your fault. Ken was a friend, your doctor, a long-time acquaintance. When it came to him, you didn't slip, miscalculate, or misjudge. Reclaim yourself because I see the same Jin I've always seen, powerful, fearless, and knows his shit." Jin looks up at Hoseok and smiles. "Seriously, thanks Hoseok. I needed to hear that."   "I love you Jin"   "Love you too Hoseok."

"Now to business."  Hoseok changes the subject to change the atmosphere.   "JK has been looking for investors for his intern turned business associate and President of Kang Project, Mr. Kang Daniel. I took it upon myself to look into the numbers and I must say I am impressed." Hoseok pauses.   "But."  Jin asks  "They withdrew their proposal when it was told that you bought the company. But it wasn't JK who pulled it, it was Daniel. I'm thinking his admiration for JK was his ultimate decision to do so. Not so much business for him, it seems personal. I don't know about you and JK, but maybe reaching out to JK about the Kang Project, and giving this kid the opportunity we've all had, it would be beneficial mostly to Daniel."

"Hoseok, if the proposal is resubmitted, you have full authority to authorize the deal."  "Jin, as much as I like the authority, I have never broke ranks when it comes to your business deals and I'm not breaking it now. Think about the kid. I have to go bro. I will see you at mom's and dad's engagement party."   "Of course." They shook hands and Hoseok left. Jin phone rings its Yoongi.

"Yoongi."    "Jin I got a lead that Ken is definitely in South Korea but I'm not sure of the area. I'm still working on it. But just wanted to update you."   "Thanks, Yoongi. Keep me updated."   "Will do Jin." Jin hangs up. On the ride to his home, he thinks of JK. He misses everything about him. He craves his touch, his voice, and his scent. He is at home. He showers and dresses. It's been hard for him to lay in the nude since what happened to him. He lays down and jazz music is playing in the background. He falls asleep thinking of JK.
