As Charlie watched the shadow twist with every light beam, she saw flickers of all the demons he had possessed. A man with a very tall hat, then Alastor, then someone with a flat screen for a head. It cycled through, showing her just how much damage he had done.

Monster went limp, returning to his pure form, a tall thin man. Charlie let him slip to the ground. The places the lights had inflicted him were steaming and glowing like embers.

"'Kay, what'd we miss?" Angel Dust and Vaggie, drenched in sweat from running up the entire stairwell, burst into the broadcast room. "Nothing much. Just saved the future a little trouble." "Aww, why do you always get to do the fun part?"

Charlie smirked at them. Noticing Alastor had grown weaker, she rushed to aid him. "Hey, you okay?" Alastor smiled and rose up. "Yes, of course. I could ask you the same, however." She was covered in blood, her own, and feathers still stuck to her skin.

"Ugh. Yeah, I'm good. Every damn time I use my wings, I get feathers in my hair for weeks." She laughed softly. "And I get scars on my back each time too, and they really hurt." Charlie looked back at Monster. He still lay lifeless, his sides singed.

Alastor cleared his throat, calling the attention of the other demons. "I would like to apologize for anything I might have said or done, I would never want to do anything to harm any of you. I am deeply sorry." Angel smiled, placing a hand on his hip. "It's cool. I deserved whatever you were gonna do anyways."

Charlie was too busy thinking to listen. Taking down Monster had been easy...too easy. It might have been a trick, just to let them go until he needed to rise up again. Cautiously, she walked toward the crumpled shadow being.

She almost felt sorry for the pathetic creature, but she refused to let her emotions lead her astray. One wrong move and everything would come crashing around them. Charlie dared not touch him, in case it was a ruse and she ended up being grabbed. The way he burned at the sides reminded her of a time long ago with her father.

Lucifer was taking her out for a walk, she was about seven at the time. They were minding their own business, just talking and laughing with each other. But when they reached the park, horrors beyond imagination filled the girl's eyes.

Demons were scattered everywhere, thrown carelessly in the field and amongst trees. Lucifer tried to have her look away, but she watched. Watched as the Exterminators pierced their victim's sides and pulled out bloody spears.
