Charlie didn't know why she always threw herself into dangerous situations. Maybe she thought it would help save her friends, help them to escape. But they were more than capable of fending for themselves, so why did she put herself out?

"But those were some pretty good fighting skills. Where'd you learn to grab 'em by the throat like that?" Angel sat at the edge of the bed, his long legs spread lazily. Charlie let out a laugh. "I dunno. It just came to me."

The princess really wasn't much of fighter. She hated causing others pain, but when it came to Alastor...it seemed easier when he was there with her. Charlie was a peaceful person, she would never fight someone unless she or her friends were threatened.

Alastor's voice cut through her thoughts. "I am sorry for leaving you. I needed to take action immediately, and you were merely lost thoughts." The spider demon huffed in annoyance. "Well, thanks for that." "Angel, he's trying to be sincere. Can't you shut your fucking trap and accept the apology?" Vaggie scolded him.

"Thank you. I accept your apology." Angel Dust looked away. "And...are you okay Charlie?" He added, a hint of concern in his voice. The blonde nodded, her hair bounced with every head shake. "I'm fine now, thanks. I'll have to stay here for a week or so, just to make sure nothing happens, knock on wood."

The deer demon's smile faded slightly at the mention of the stay's duration. Charlie placed a hand on his shoulder, rubbing in a comforting manner. "It's okay. The week will go by fast, I promise." Alastor gave her a look that could only be interpreted as, 'I may be dumb at some points, but I am smart enough to see the complete and utter lie you just told me.'

"I once had a friend in the hospital. Got blown up or some shit, but they were able to save him. Longest two months of my life. I'm tellin' ya, this ain't gonna be easy for either of ya." "You are not helping, Angel." The demon shifted and chuckled. "When have I ever been a help? I'm a fucking hoar, I only help dirty old men when they're lonely." Charlie gave him a worried grin.

She lay a hand on one of his. "Angel, that's not what I meant. You are really valuable to this group, please don't say those things about yourself. Do you enjoy what you do?" Angel glanced to her, his grin reduced to a frown. "I mean...sometimes...pole dancin' is pretty fun. Maybe I could teach you one day?"
