chapter 42: the Garreg Mach Express (vol 6)

A few days later
While Josh's friends are waiting for the train to board. Josh and Atalante collect the tickets

Atalante: I'm surprised that we are in Platinum

Josh: I've saved a lot of money.

Atalante: so what's the occasion?

Josh: nothing special in particular

Atalante: how's the face?

Josh: still sore after Cinder had slashed at it

With the group

Sienna was trying to calm Jaune down

Jaune: Josh was too reckless to fight his own sister!

Sienna: at least, You didn't have that cut, Jaune.

Jaune: still, Pyrrha was my team mate.

Alice: but she was his girlfriend.

Sienna: Really?

Both Alice and Jaune nodded

A couple of days earlier

The group are packing up their things while Alice was patching up Josh's scar

Alice: (annoyed) stop moving, Josh

Josh: I can't

Roman: it's your fault that you were reckless.

Josh looks to Roman angrily

Roman: sorry.

Ruby: (worried) so did you do it? Killed cinder I mean.

Josh: no. I just wanted her to suffer.

The others were surprised

Ashe: how did you not kill her?

He tells them that he has moved on past killing his own sister while he took off the bandage

Josh: I've got a feeling that We'll meet again but in Atlas.

Weiss: How? General Ironwood has closed the borders.

Josh: Ashe and I know someone who can help us at Garreg Mach.

Blake: Who?

Ashe: her name is Petra and she's our former class mate

At the station

Yang: so how do you and Josh know this Petra person, Ashe?

Ashe explains

Ruby: she sounds like a good friend

Ashe: yea she is

Announcement: the Garreg Mach Express is boarding

Alice: that's us.

Ren: so which car is us?

Atalante: do you want to tell them?

Josh: yea. (Calls out to the others) hey guys come over here for a moment

The others gather around

Qrow: so what's up?

Josh: we're in Platinum service for the trip.

All but Atalante: WHAT?!

Nora: how come?

He explains that he saved enough money to pay for Platinum

Josh: so here's what we'll do for cabin wise. Cabin 2 is myself and Alice. Cabin 3 is Ruby and Weiss. Cabin 4 is Yang and Jaune. Cabin 5 will be Qrow and Oscar. Cabin 6 will be the belladonna sisters. Cabin 7 will be Nora and Ren. Cabin 8 will be Roman and Neo and cabin 9 will be Sienna and Fran

Ruby: what about 1?

Josh: someone has that. I've got no idea who. But I think Ashe is in one

The group split up into their own rooms on the train until Josh sees a familiar symbol on the first Cabin door but Alice bumps into him

Alice: are you alright?

Josh: yes Alice. Have a look at the door.

She sees the symbol

Alice: I think that we now know who has this room.

Girl: it's been a while, Josh.

A girl with dark red hair and green eyes dressed in dark pink armour approaches the two

Josh: Medina.

The two embraced into a hug

Medina: it's so nice to see you again.

Atalante: Hello again, Medina.

later in the club car

Josh introduces Medina to his friends

Weiss: I've never get to thank you for protecting me and Ashe

Ashe: wait that was you?

Medina: yep. I was at the Academy when you lot were fighting some people who were responsible for the fall of Beacon.

Josh: that was all Cinder's fault.

Medina: who's Cinder?

Josh: my sister.

All of the sudden it went quiet

Medina: What?! (Grabs Josh by the collar) you mean to say that the fall of beacon was all your sister's doing!?

Josh: yes

Ozpin: (in Oscar's body) she wasn't doing it alone.

She let's Josh go and turns to Ozpin

Medina: then who was the mastermind?

Qrow nods to Ozpin

Ozpin: the mastermind is someone called Salem.
