chapter 5: Jaune and the troublemakers

A few weeks had passed

Jaune is in a sparring match against Cardin who wields a club

Cardin: this is the part where you give up

Jaune: (panting) over my dead body

When Cardin was about to finish him off professor Goodwitch calls the match

Goodwitch: as you can see students. Mr Arc's aura is in the red zone meaning that in a contest of strength referee calls the match. (Turns to Jaune) Mr Arc i suggest that you confer to your aura levels, we don't want you being eaten by a Beowulf now would we.

Jaune looks at his scroll and sees his aura level in the red

Cardin: (bluntly) speak for yourself

At lunch

Nora was telling teams RWBY, JNPR and JACE about her dream, Ashe was playing with his food while Josh was trying to make his team mate to stop while Edelgard was chatting with Yang until Constance noticed Jaune was just picking at his food

Constance: are you ok, Jaune?

Jaune: yea, there's nothing wrong

Josh: I've noticed that Cardin has been picking on you since the first week of school

Jaune: who, Cardin? He just like to mess around (pulling a weak thumbs up)

Ruby: he's a bully

Ashe: and last I checked poor behaviour is not the behaviour of a huntsman

Josh: don't hesitate to turn to your team and friends for help, bud. We are here to help

Jaune: (stands up) I'll be sure to ask

Something draws group's attention

Girl: ow please stop

Edelgard: excuse me for a moment (gets up)

Yang: where are you going, Edelgard?

Josh: don't worry about her, Yang

Edelgard grabs Cardin's arm and pulls it off the girl's rabbit ear

Cardin: what the hell?

Edelgard: i don't believe picking on someone just because they look different then us

Cardin: if you don't leave I'll put you in your place, bitch

Josh: (behind Cardin) what did you just called her?

Russell: uh oh

Sky: he didn't just call her that

Dove: uh Cardin

Cardin: (turns to his team) what?

then Cardin became scared when he noticed Josh

Cardin: (scared) w-when did you turned up?

Josh: (darkly) apologise to her and leave or we'll have a problem

Cardin apologises to Edelgard and leaves the girl with rabbit ears

Josh: (to the girl) are you ok?

Girl: yea thanks

Josh: don't thank me, thank her (points to Edelgard)

Girl: thank you. I'm Velvet

Edelgard: my names Edelgard. Take care Velvet

Josh and Edelgard return to their table

Blake: that was kind of you, Edelgard

Edelgard: it was nothing. I believe that both Faunus and humans are not different

Pyrrha: i haven't seen you like that before, Josh

Josh: I get that from my father

Weiss: who is your father, Josh?

Josh: his name is Orsune Krannic

Ruby: what is he like?

Josh: only one of the best officers of the Tullamarine empire. He helps the Faunus whenever they are in trouble and I want to follow his example

Blake: sounds like you have a good role model

Josh smiles but was short lived when Ashe speaks up

Ashe: team CRDL are a bunch of asshats

Blake: you're not wrong about that

Edelgard: I personally think that they're more like a bunch morons.

Yang: really?

The next day

A speed moving professor is giving a lesson of history to the class while zipping about in the classroom

Josh: (whispers) are you getting anything, Constance?

Constance: (whispers back) not really, I wish that he would slowdown

Professor: mr. Erwin do you have the answer for the question?

Josh: yes. The general's disadvantage was night vision unlike some others

Cardin: (to Josh) do you have a problem with me, Erwin?

Blake: he doesn't, The General thought that attacking the Faunus in their sleep

Professor: good work Mr. Erwin and Ms Belladonna

Edelgard: and he would have been a success (turns to Cardin) IF he had paid attention in class

Cardin stands from his seat

Professor: thank you Ms Hresvelg. Mr,Winchester sit back down both you and Mr Arc will be staying back for additional homework

Jaune groaned about staying back

After class

Ashe: Aren't you coming, Constance?

Constance: I'm a little concerned about Jaune, Ashe

Asher: ok I'll let the others know

In the classroom

Professor Oobleck: whatever is going on with the two of you, it has to stop and now. Mr Winchester you need to stop picking on others or otherwise it's another detention for you again

Cardin: yes Professor

Oobleck: thank you

The three left the classroom but Cardin pushed Jaune to the ground

Constance: I will put him in his place if he's not going to stop, Jaune.

Jaune: thanks

Constance: i have an idea, come

She drags Jaune to her team's dorm

Jaune: what are we doing here?

Constance: I thought that myself and Ashe would be able to help you with your problem

Jaune: thanks for you concern, Constance but it's my problem and I'll sort it

Constance: (sternly) not without help.

This made Jaune was taken back

Jaune: (hugs Constance) thank you

Constance blushes and hugs him back

Constance: goodnight, Jaune
