Part 25 | Don't Push Too Hard

I don't why I still texted Lisa last night checking if she already arrived safely at the hotel. I actually wanted to talk more, but I felt like I am just going to cry a lot facing her.

When she told me she's already at the hotel. I called her and apologized for leaving the night that way, but she told me that she understood. She actually waited for me to sleep and ended the call.

She also said last night that she will pick me up and Elijah in the morning.

I woke up around 7am.

Elijah is already eating his breakfast with Aunt Dara and Seulgi and with Kai.

Yeah, he has been courting me for a year now but I didn't promise anything to him. Sometimes he would book my night from the club and we just talked. But honestly, he is so boring. I just don't know how to tell him to stop.

He gave me flowers and boxes of chocolates. God, he always forgets that I don't like sunflowers.

I ate with them and suddenly, the doorbell rang. Seulgi took it.
I was shocked seeing Lisa hilding a bouquet of white roses. My favorite! I don't know why I smiled.

Jennie! (marupok!)

Kai was surprised seeing her. I have informed him already about Lisa but he didn't know she's picking us up today.

When Elijah saw Lisa, he jumped from his chair and ran towards her and gave her the tightest hug and a lot of kisses.

Aunt Dara and Seulgi looked at me like asking what the hell is happening.

"I missed you, my sunshine!" Lisa told Elijah.
Elijah sobbed and we don't know why.

"Dada, will you still leave? Please do not leave me." Lisa closed her eyes. We're just staring at them.

"I will never ever leave you anymore, Eli. I promise. Stop crying, baby. I will be here for you from now on." She wiped Eli's tears. She handed the roses to him and gestured to give it to me.

Kai went beside me and asked me about it. I just didn't talk.

Aunt Dara and Seulgi welcomed Lisa and gave her coffee at the living area. I was washing the dishes when Kai approached me.

"Jen, is she the reason why you cancelled me last night?" Still didn't answer him.

"Oh, you forgot. We already talked to bring him today to the carnival right?" He said. Shit. I forgot.

"Kai, sorry I forgot. Wait. Let me talk to Lisa first." I went to the living room and signaled to Lisa to meet me outside.

"Lis, I am sorry. I already made a commitment to Kai last week that we're bringing Elijah to the carnival today. I am really sorry. I forgot." I apologized.

"Hey. It's ok. I have you the whole week right? Let's do it tomorrow. Is it fine with you?" She asked me and smiled.

"Yes. Tomorrow it is. I am really sorry." I said.

"No worries. By the way, who is he?" She asked.

"Hmm. He's Kai. He's Eli's Doctor when his heart was operated three years ago." I said.

"I didn't know it's required for them to bring patients on the carnival especially in the morning. It's too hot. I hope he knows what he's doing." I actually came to realize why he is bringing us at the carnival nearly lunch time when it's so hot.
