JENNIE

Weeks have passed and Lisa made sure that I am okay. She always brings me to dinner, to the beach, even to her meetings. She can't take her eyes off me. She introduced me to her colleague as her girlfriend even if she didn't ask me yet, but I think, there's no need to do it anymore. She even took all my stuff and Eli's at home and brought to her house. Yes, we live together again.

She is my comfort. She caused me too much pain in the past, but now, she's the one who motivates me to heal myself. Lisa never stopped healing me as well.

We talk everyday. Every minute. She makes sure I'll have a good night sleep after we bring Eli to his room.

Would you believe that Lisa didn't even initiate sex since we slept together again in her room? She respects me. But most of the time, she would express how she drools for me and tells me how sexy I am with my bump and how she loves me. And I love her so much too!

She cancels all her appointments whenever I have scheduled check-ups and ultrasound.

By this time, we're having a baby girl! She's so happy and Eli as well.

We are starting a fresh life being together the second time around. Both of us are working for this and we will never let go of each other anymore.

We believe that in order for us to completely heal and accept what happened in the past wholeheartedly, we must face all that bother us.

First, we explained to Eli that Lisa is really his real parent. Thank god we are both smart to think of, or choose the right words to explain to our son how it happened. He understood. And he believe his Dada is the most beautiful thing on earth. If only you can imagine how he adores Lisa most of the time. He even said he has this strong feeling since the day she saw her because they have the same face. Are we talking to an almost 6 year old boy here or 16?

Second, us. She cleared that nothing is going on between her and Suzy. In fact, she will be resigning from the firm very soon and we plan to live in Thailand after a few months for her to be able to start her own Architectural company there, to the building we went to and she had me suggest for the interior.

We also talked about what happened during that night when we separated. I admitted to her what her father has done. She apologized and I said not to think about it anymore and let's bury it in the past and move forward.

Third, her father.

After we brought Eli to school. She got a text from Hanbin that their father wants to have lunch with the whole family. I hesitated to go but Lisa insisted that I should come with her and it's about time.

To heal. To completely heal the wounds of the past.

When we arrived, I am really shaking. Like I don't know what to do. I will be facing the man who destroyed me. Who brainwashed Lisa that's why she left me. She  just believed him because she was longing for a father's love.

But honestly, I can say that, yes there's still pain, but it's not as raging as like before.

Her stepmother and Nayeon hugged me as we enter the door. Hanbin did too.

And there he is at the living room on his wheelchair while reading a book. Shifted his head to our direction when he heard my voice greeting his family. I know that he has accepted Eli already. I even know how much he loves him and I am thankful for that.

Lisa didn't let go of my hand as we walk towards the living room and we bowed to him.

"Good afternoon, Sir." I greeted him. He just looked at me with unpredictable emotion. Lisa really got this face when she is serious.

After a while, his brows furrowed. Lisa noticed it and started to talk.

"Dad, please. Not anymore. Whatever you have in mind. Don't push it through. I love Jennie. She is the only woman I have ever loved this way. Please, by this time, let me be the person she and Eli deserve. If you're planning something bad to her again, I swear, I will be the one to fight for her. Even if it means fighting against you. I love her and no one can ever stop me from loving her more." Lisa said in a serious but soft tone. Her tears are starting to fall.

She walked towards her father and kneeled in front of him. God Lisa, don't beg. We will fight for this, but please don't beg, love.

"Dad, I am becoming a better person now. For Jennie, for my son and soon we're having another child. I don't want to abandon them. I want to be with them. I love them. I hope you understand. I am begging you. Please. Let us be. Let us be happy and free." She said as she looked at her father straight to the eyes and crying.

"Stand up, Lisa. Come, follow me."

We all got curious. They went inside her father's room. Her stepmother offered me a cup of tea to calm me.

After a few minutes, they came out from the room and I noticed her father gave something to Lisa and she put it inside her pocket.

"Go. Ask her." He said to Lisa.

Lisa walked towards me and kneeled in front of me.

"Jennie, I know I was a coward. I was stupid. I was unsure who to believe. But this, my love for you, it brings me back to one thing I am always sure about in this world-------YOU. It's always been you." She took a deep breath and I wiped her tears. Is she apologizing again?

"Jennie Kim, marry me and let me make up to you for the rest of our lives. Let me make you feel how important you are every second. Let me savor your flaws because god knows how beautiful they are to me. Let me love your shine. I promise, I will not just be your better half, but also your best friend that you can lean on. Let's discover all the demons in life and surpass them. Let's be us, Jennie. Until our last breath. Be mine?" She asked me to marry her and, wow, what she said were breathtaking. Such a view of words. I love you Lisa!

She took something from her pocket, opened the box with a simple white gold ring with a diamond on it.

I cried and hugged her. I hugged her so tight and told her that I love her so much.

I caught her family, even Hanbin also crying and they're looking forward to my answer.

"Jennie." Our hugs were  interrupted when I heard her father called my name.

"Say yes to my daughter. Please. That ring belonged to her mother as our engagement ring." Lisa's father said and we're all happy knowing that he still kept it. He smiled to me.

I smiled back to him.

I cupped Lisa's face and kissed her deeply in front of her family.

"Yes. You know I always want my first love to be my last. And yes, it will always be you, Lisa. Marry me too!"

We received hugs from her family. We're all emotional but happy.

Her father and I talked over tea after our lunch and he sincerely apologized for what he did to me and my family before. I forgave him. I even hugged him and wiped the tears from his face.

It felt like my heart is freed.
