Julia:

"Daveed if you burn that turkey I swear to G-"

The oven beeped just in time. "Thank goodness," I sighed. Our worst nightmare almost came to a start, thinking Daveed was going to ruin the turkey like he did last year.

"Hey! This turkey always comes out delicious thanks to my cooking." He scowled me as he got it out from the cookstove and placed it on our breakfast island.

"Are you kidding?" Chris smiled. "Don't you remember when you burned it last year?"

"And dropped it the year before that?" Lin chipped in.

"And fought with it the year before that?" Now Anthony joined the chorus.

"How did he fight with- Nevermind," Jasmine shook her head before she even finished asking her question.

"Oh, believe me he did. He tried wrestling that poor creature..." I widened my eyes just recalling that eventful Thanksgiving dinner. Only Dav could do such a thing.

"Alright, alright, so I may have had my fair share of bad luck with turkeys. But you know that saying, Uhm... Third time's a charm?" He lifted his shoulders as he lifted his eyebrows.

"Daveed, this the fourth time." Oak corrected him.

"Then, fourth time's a charm?"

"That's-That's not how it goes, buddy..." Lin prompted him quietly. We all cackled at this silly exchange of words we had with Dav. It was time for the most stressful time of the night: To carry the perfectly cooked turkey to the dining table. Usually, this would be an easy task, but not when you're surrounded by idiots like these.

"Okay, who's carrying the turkey this year?"

"Oh, me, me, me!!" Of course, Daveed raised his hand up.

"But, you already-"

"I don't care, me, me, me!!" He kept rebelling. We all looked at each other and realized we needed to let him do the honors or else he would fight us all like an MMA match.

"Be careful, you fool." Groffsauce rolled his eyes and we tried to hold in our snickers as we spoke in such a monotone voice.

As Daveed carefully transported the big porcelain plate with the meal in his hands, we tried not to interrupt him or else he'd jump and drop the food that took days to make. He was getting closer to the table, and before he could place it on the crystal surface, he pretended to drop it just to give us a big scare. I don't know who cried out more, Groff or I.

"IF YOU DO THAT AGAIN, I'LL THROW YOU OUT THAT F*CKING WINDOW YOU- What are you doing?!"

"Checking how high the drop is, see if it's worth it." Daveed shrugged in reaction to Groff and I's shouting.

After a typical fit of playful fights and laughter, we dug into our food. Always delicious. That's the beauty of having a Puerto Rican husband, ladies and gentlemen. He always knows how to cook the perfect dinners, especially for Thanksgiving.

None of us wanted to wash the dishes after eating, so we just let the dishwasher do its thing. We threw ourselves on the matching couches and did every lazy activity you could ever think of: Playing Mario Kart, watching Youtube videos, and even playing some GTA. It was already pretty late, so we decided to screw it and do a last-minute sleepover.

"Stick to the bathroom schedule, Groffsauce! It's not your turn to shower!!" Leslie yelled from the other side of the bathroom door as he waited impatiently.

"Oh, you mean the imaginary schedule?"

"It's not imaginary if it exists!! I put it in front of the fridge so everyone could see it."

"I didn't see it!" Groff screamed back.

"That's no excuse! Get out, it's my turn to shower!"

"I'm already stripped naked. Unless you want to come in and share the water, you know so the bill comes in cheaper next month."

We all heard Jonathan's comment and burst into laughter. "If Leslie says no, I'm joining Groffsauce!" Lin joked back.

"Could we ever just have one reunion without yelling?" I murmured to my husband next to me and he cracked up.

"Honey, I don't think we signed up to be a part of this group without the constant bickering. In fact, I think it was part of the contract."

I giggled at his remark and he took my hand, helping me stand up. He led me upstairs, and into Alexander's bedroom. We quietly strolled in, making sure not to wake him up from his nap.

"You know, I was so scared stepping into parenthood." Lin secured his arm around my waist. I turned to face him. "Really, why?"

I was terrified myself, and he knew that. But it never crossed my mind that he'd be frightened too. Ever since I met him I knew he was going to be a wonderful father, whether that was sharing a kid with me or with someone else.

"I guess I was just nervous of things I couldn't control. Or maybe scared because I'd never had to raise a child before. What if I didn't love him enough? Or what if I didn't make him happy?"

"I never doubted your parenting skills." I smiled and he hesitated to listen to my statement. "How come?" He polled.

"Because not once did you not love me enough. Not once did you not make me happy."

And even after two years of being together and almost a year of being married, I'd still manage to make his cheeks turn into a light shade of pink. Though it was a bit dark in Alex's room, I could still see him blush.

"I think I might be falling in love with you again." He made the cutest grin with his face, and I couldn't resist laughing.

"You think he enjoyed his first Thanksgiving?" He implored as he drew imaginary circles on my back. I glowed at the action and glared at his side. "With his crazy uncles and aunts? Absolutely. I think he wouldn't have it any other way."

"Would you?" He swiveled to stare at me.

"Would I what?" I creased my eyebrows as I stood in front of the love of my life.

"Have it another way?"

I let out a chuckle. "Even if I had the chance to be born again in one hundred other lives, never. With a fairytale like this, I could never change you or our lives."
