"Where are your mom and dad?" Billie asks Celestial.
Celestial takes out her pen and paper and writes, "Home."
"I want to see them! Let me see them!" Billie says overly excitedly. Celestial's eyes widen, "NO," she writes. Billie shrugs her shoulders, "hmm okay." she says.
You see, Celestial's parents are what some may call unfit. Some would even consider them neglectful and abusive at times but if you knew what went on inside, you'd know it was much worse.
Celestial has found it easier to just stay quiet. Quiet around her parents, strangers, and anyone she doesn't trust. She doesn't even know who to trust because the people who where supposed to protect her have failed her. Not even the police have been able to save her and so Celestial has just learned to shut up and take what's given to her.
She'll often talk to herself when she's alone because there's nothing to fear when she talks with herself.  She can say what ever she wants and no one judges her, she doesn't have to worry about being yelled at, hit, starved, or even worse. She didn't want to put Billie through that, she figured Billie was to pure to witness anything like that. It stays that way through out the year
The girls are 17 now and nothing changes. Billie and Celestial are still friends even though Billie is the only one who speaks. Winter rolls around and Celestial is spending the night at Billie's for the very first time. Celestial feels so free and warm inside, she's never felt so safe before.
"Hey Celestial, I am going to play the piano and sing, you can join in if you want but no pressure." Billie says.
She walks over to the piano and sits down on the bench. She plays a song that both of them know and love,Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey.
Billie's fingers gracefully play the keys and her gentle voice accompanies the notes she play."I've seen the world, done it all
had my cake now" Billie sings as Celestial walks closer up behind her, listening to every note, admiring every cored played. She rocks side to side and hums while Billie plays.
By the time Billie reaches the chorus Celestial is already in a trance from how angelic her friend is, that she feels safe. "Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful." Celestial sings quietly, taking Billie by surprise. It's a good surprise that brings Billie to tears, she plays and sings with more courage than before, Celestial sings a bit louder as well.
Once they finish the song  Billie turns around, "You... You sounded so good!" She says standing up and turning to face her friend. Billie grabs Celestial's hands, "I didn't know you could speak, let alone sing so beautifully." Celestial blushes,"I... I don't... I don't really talk to anyone... unless I feel safe... and you.." she stutters from the nerves , "you've shown-n me over and over that I-I can trust you and you.. you don't judge me."
Billie starts to tear up,"I am so proud of you for opening up, and to whoever hurt you and made you feel unsafe.. they can suck my dick."
Celestial laughs a bit and starts to cry as well. She wraps her arms around Billie and pulls her close.
The thing about there friendship is that they don't need words to communicate. There friendship is so pure because there's no lies. They've each let their actions speak louder then words and really earned each others trust and respect that way.
