sometimes i wish we can be together so there's no longer maybes.

jeongwoo looked at the other with a perplexed yet amused face, surmises already forming at the insides of his mind as he scoffed in disbelief.

the doubt and self-denial was already washing out from him, just by hearing his teasing yet somehow reassuring statement.

back then, he used to just shrug away all the thought of hopes that could pull him closer to the idea of them being together, of his feelings being reciprocated; lest none of this actually mattered to the taller male and is just all talk.

but being with him from time to time, going through random places together, talking either of work or just regards—he can already tell that maybe, just maybe, haruto likes him too.

oh, how much he's starting to like the idea.

turning towards what he was doing, jeongwoo could no longer stifle out his smile. he was liking it, as if haruto was already asking for blessing from his mother like they were together, like they are a legal couple.

he could no longer suppress the overflowing, tremendous amount of expectations being the product of his mind by just hearing a single statement.

say it, say it—say it haruto.

"oh, what does that mean? does this child of mine stands a chance?" jeongwoo's mother chortled in amusement, yet a hint of tease beneath her tone.

jeongwoo already knew that his mother was just going along with the flow. there's no way she could ever pair with someone completely out of his status, not even a proper pair in terms of status. his mother wouldn't do something that highfalutin.

yet he, himself, is doing it. the hypocrisy.

is it wrong to hope that maybe someone like him is fit enough to become his lover? maybe he could change himself, prove to anyone the same as him that he could impress him with anything other than money in business.

however, whenever he thinks of it, convincing others that he is enough to become his is somehow nothing but a hopeless dream.

haruto became silent for a minute, constantly looking at the male who's not even doing the same as him, before looking at jeongwoo's mother with a faint smile.

"of course, he's not bad at all."

jeongwoo knew it. he grew accustomed over haruto's 'teasing' remarks. however, even though he tries to ignore all the possibilities that the male has opened, he still coudn't just ignore all of it and act like a robot who had no intention of believing on anything he's been trying to show off.

in fact, jeongwoo still couldn't make his fast heartbeat on stabilize. but whenever he tries to maintain himself with haruto almost poking at every blind spots of his, being able to compose himself at time like this is beyond impossible.

"really, someone like him?" jeongwoo's mother inserted, almost left speechless in disbelief.

and it was as if his mother was doubting about haruto's belief, that he is not capable of being with him most of the time. this itself almost broke him, especially during a time when he was being vulnerable.

but this was not the case, he has no time arguing over something around this time, especially with him around.

uh huh. jeongwoo continued to take off the clothes that he brought before folding it and placing it in one of the provided drawers, his ears already listening at every conversation shared between the two while doing most of his tasks.
