jeongwoo continued to stroll down the street right outside of the university, heaving a dramatic and tiring sigh after his class has ended.
he had planned to go home and rest today, which is probably possible since haruto did not contact him for another session.
jeongwoo also wondered if haruto actually passed or at least excelled their test, because maybe he'll get another promotion and that would be enough for others to notice his skills on teaching someone proficiently.
who was he kidding? jeongwoo should at least focus on the competence of his work other than what his heart was screaming to.
jeongwoo smiled at the thought inside his head, just him taking a nap and eating whatever he wants while watching movies is definitely the best thing, as if he's on a sweet paradise.
no one, and nothing, shall hinder his rest today or else he'll definitely lose it.
and as he continued to stroll, just taking a peek at the stores he pass through, his phone suddenly rang, signalling that someone is calling him right at this time. who would call me at a time like this?
jeongwoo groaned in annoyance, he was definitely not in the mood to talk to anyone else today.
what happened earlier in class was enough to ruin his mood, and he just wanted to close his eyes and regain inner peace.
however, jeongwoo of course hooked his phone out of his bag without any other choice, only then came fumbling when he noticed the name of the person who was calling.
it was haruto, of course—the only person who could cause jeongwoo to fumble and waver. he wondered if they were going to have a session today, which totally ruined his mood even more.
he pressed the answer button, coughing for a moment before pressing the phone close to his ears.
"hello, jeongwoo. where are you right now?" haruto's voice echoed through the phone.
it was undeniably deeper than before, and jeongwoo couldn't help but feel fascinated. it was the first time he heard his voice through call, of course he couldn't help but be blown by surprise.
"you didnt tell me we'll have any session today," jeongwoo stated, tiredness visible on his tone of voice.
he sat down on a nearby bench to rest and talk to haruto. he was obviously tired and weary, but somehow talking to haruto seems to wash it away just by hearing to his deep voice.
"oh, no, we're not having a session today. i just want to—uhm, where exactly are you right now?" haruto's voice came from the line.
hearing it afterwards, he was confused. he wondered what's wrong with him, as to why he was actually having a hard time forming his sentence properly.
as for jeongwoo, he had always thought that haruto was always blunt and way too straightforward for his liking, but now his words even takes curves and turns as if having the difficulty to make it usually coherent.
"im at the street near the bus stop. can't properly describe it, why?" jeongwoo's brows continued to crease, specifically emphasizing the word why for haruto to answer first.
if it wasn't a session, what else does haruto even need from him? they only talk when it comes to academics, discussions, schedules. why bother?
"then, can you meet me at the cafe where we usually hold our sessions? i'll be there in a moment," haruto answered, avoiding jeongwoo's obvious question.
it was awfully making jeongwoo elevate his agitation and temperemental. was haruto purposely avoiding the question or not? jeongwoo had thought.
and he couldn't just say yes to an offer made by someone without giving every tiny bit of detail.
"yah! i asked you why, are you avoiding my question?!" jeongwoo bursted, subconsciously exclaiming to make the thought reiterate inside haruto's mind for him to immediately answer.
if it was clear, then jeongwoo might have said yes. and on second thought, no. spending time with him is a no, but actually a yes at the same time.
jeongwoo heard a rustling and shuffling noise coming from the other side of the line, then a dramatic sigh coming from haruto. "yeah, sorry. i'll explain it to you when i'll meet you later. please? just this once."
jeongwoo obviously found it weird, haruto saying a "please" to him. it was a once in a lifetime favor of haruto; specifically for him and him alone.
setting aside work or anything else that are impediments, haruto actually wanted to come and see him. he did not want to believe or hope, but why can't he stop?
maybe he need yedam to repeat the advice for a million times before he could actually register it inside that mind of his.
