Y/n's pov

"No teacher today?" I asked Satoshi who's seat was next to mine during English, too bad it was our first period today. Then again, Hinata comes to mind, he does struggle a whole lot in this subject, I wonder what the big deal was this morning at the entrance..

Satoshi nodded. "Apparently they got caught up in a meeting, not sure who we're getting as a substitute." He chuckled. "Before we find out, at least we have some spare time."

"Ah, I guess you're right.." I slowly drifted away from focusing on Satoshi, still trying to process what happened at the entrance. Why did he have a volleyball, I thought the team wasn't supposed to be practicing. Did he break rules or..?

"(L/n)-San ? You okay there?" Satoshi waved his hand frantically in my face before I snapped out of it.  This is probably the 2nd time I decided to space out in front of him.

"O-Oh, sorry.. just lost in thought over w-who our substitute is going to be..!" I nervously laughed taking out my English text book, even though no adult showed up yet.

Before I could end up embarrassing myself even more someone tapped on Satoshi shoulder, pausing us. We turned around.

"Ah sorry, before class starts, may I borrow Ms.(L/n)-San's attention?" It was Hinata. I couldn't stop my face from blushing at the moment. Did I always get this flustered whenever he was around? He never called me like that either.. I couldn't freak out in front of them two.

Hinata pulled me out of my seat and dragged me out of the classroom, before Satoshi could even respond. This man is going to be the death of me, at this point my face was like a tomato. Wonder why he wants to see me though.

We both stopped. Hinata grasped my shoulders and looked straight into my eyes. The gap between was very small, I could only hear his breathing and my heart beating fast. What was happening, is this a confession? Now? Here?! I looked back into his hazel eyes.

"(L-L/n)-San, about earlier, sorry about what happened, Kageyama and me were practicing and it went a bit a crazy towards the end, I hope you're still not hurt." He let go and scratched the back of his head, with an apologetic look.

I felt a bit disappointed for some reason, could it be because I thought it would be a confession, or because he let go, his warmth now leaving me?

"O-Oh, that's okay.. you guys shouldn't be practicing though." My mood changed, and I started mumbling things. Hinata tilted his head a little, sort of like he was observing me.

"You're right about that..! I learned my lesson." He gave me a grin, and a thumbs up, making me chuckle a bit. His smile gets brighter each day.

Still feeling a little off, I decided to end our conversation here. "Ah, if that's all, I'm going to head back to class, don't worry about what happened, it's all been forgiven." I wore a small smile on my face and left.

"Anything happened?" Satoshi asked, as I took my seat again. I dejectedly shook my head.

"Nothing important." I sighed. Slouching into my seat.

"You sure? You seem off." He had a concerned look, now frowning.

No way I'm telling anyone this. "No really, I'm okay." I sat up straight now smiling. "Just feeling a bit tired? Waking up early every day is really taking a toll on us students huh?" I chuckled, hiding my now high school romance crisis. It's like some 90s tv show now.

"I see, I guess top students don't have it easy." He smiled before returning to his book.

Hinata's pov

I watched as (L/n) slumped back into her seat, it wouldn't hurt to have my seat next to hers, too bad I sit all the way back here. "Is she upset over what happened?" I mumbled to myself. Looking back, she mumbled a lot and her expression changed. Did I say something?

"Ah maybe because we were too close.." I keep screwing up things dammit.

"Excuse me? Young man, are you talking to yourself?"

I was too lost in thought I didn't notice the substitute teacher walk in. And had already begun our lesson. I heard a few kids laugh.

"N-No sorry.." I muttered before hiding my face into my book. Just wondering how can I make it up to L/n. Sure she said it's all forgiven but something tells me she's feeling down.

Slowly pulling out my phone, I opened up to mine and Ayumi-San's text messages, she sent me a list of some of the things (L/n) likes. This is a life saver. Before I could get caught, my eyes glanced over the first bullet point on the list.

I shoved my phone back into my pocket.

"Reading..? I guess that wouldn't hurt, especially if it's for (L/n)-San." I mumbled, now blushing over the thought of her smile. This isn't rushing things too quickly right? Just reading. I need to remember that this is for her. And she means everything.
