Y/n's pov
...
"H-Hinata, you could let go of me now." I chuckled, as his grip around me loosened and he let go. I felt my face turn beet red, but I pushed that aside since this is still a learning time with them, it actually feels like I'm a teacher hah.
"S-Sorry!" He fumbled with his sweater sleeve that drooped down his left hand.
"I have a higher score than Hinata right?" Kageyama started another conversation that might open up a can of words.
"Why does that matter?" Hinata muttered. "Scared that I have a higher one?"
"Pfft, only you would dream of that day." Kageyama glared back. And they both snatched each other's paper, and just like last time, I stood there just witnessing chaos.
Both of the expressions on their faces were hard to read. But I could tell Kageyama was satisfied. "Pfft 89.. that's the best you can do?" He snickered.
"Y-You only have 1 point above me! Talk about being a stick in the mud." Hinata stuck out his tongue.
"Jeez, am I dealing with 2 year olds.." I sighed and their attention went to me. I didn't mean to blurt that out, I could tell they felt embarrassed. "A-Ah, I didn't mean it that way!" I fiddled with my fingers. I swear it's like I was tying shoe laces but instead with my fingers.
I took a deep breath and began. "Anyways, these quizzes were merely very simple, and in fact, it makes sense that you both have a high score, it was very easy, even for people with your grades." My eyes widen I probably misphrased it, so it sounded like an insult.
"E-Eh are you just being mean (L/n)-San. I know I'm terrible." Hinata laughed.
"So the real exam will be even more challenging?" Kageyama chimed in not even noticing the "insult" I threw at them both.
"You could put it that way, you still have enough time to focus on learning the concepts! Like English, and other core subjects, you just need to put in the effort." I could be a motivational speaker or something, is that what they do..?!
Kageyama nodded. Shoving his paper into his bag.
"I suck at English though.." Hinata shuddered as the word English left his mouth.
"Makes sense, you can't even say 'School' in English." Kageyama dead panned.
"You can't either!" Hinata muttered.
Oh god this will take the effort for both of them. "Okay okay, that's why I'm here right? Don't be afraid to ask for help whenever." I smiled sincerely, I was asked to help, so that's what I'm going to do.
"Oh right, we have a great tutor after all, the best actually!" Hinata beamed.
I swear this boy is going to kill me. I felt my face heat up again, I managed to respond. "T-Thanks, but I'm not that special.." I smiled awkwardly, hearing Kageyama click his tongue.
"You idiot, you're making her feel uncomfortable."
"Huh? No way! I'm just saying what's meant to be said. Surely (L/n)-San doesn't mind it?" He titled his head and looked at me. God he looks so adorable, I contained my inner fan girl scream.
"N-Not at all.. why don't we start the session? We don't have a lot of time." I smiled, leaving that subject as soon as possible.
They both nodded and took their seats. "So what are we doing first?" Hinata asked, placing his bag down.
"I have chemistry..." The setter muttered, seems like he doesn't like chemistry.
I giggled. "If you're not the best in that area, take your time and review the main details of it, then start going into complex things." I gave him my spare chemistry notes from last week. "We aren't in the same class, but these tackle down the basics!"
He nodded and accepted my notes. ''And, what about you Hinata-Kun?" I turn over to my right to look him in the eye, who was already looking at me, I had a faint tint of pink brushed against my cheeks. It didn't go unnoticeable for sure.
"Oh, I guess working on English for the time being is best, y'know for the exams and all right?" His face got a bit closer to mine.
"Hey, (L/n), you're getting really hot." He puts his hand over my forehead. I heard Kageyama choke as he stared at us. "Are you sick or something?" He didn't remove his hand.
Well maybe if we weren't so close I'd probably wouldn't look so embarrassed right now. His hand felt much colder on my forehead, which meant that I was getting a bit heated at this point. I awkwardly laughed.
"I'm f-fine, now let's just get to work right? I took his hand and removed it from my forehead, hearing Hinata laugh.
"Sorry, I always get told I jump to conclusions quickly."
"You do, idiot." Kageyama started.
"I have a name!!" Hinata grumbled, after hearing the setter clicking his tongue. I just sighed. Well my mood is a lot better from this morning though, so there's that.
