Last goodbye (21)

I looked at the time and sighed. I had to get back. But still hadn't seen him. I turned around to Kurogiri and gave him a weak smile.

"I have to go back or else I'll get in trouble." I explained with a sad smile.

"I understand. Come on now." He said softly and opened another warp gate.

I looked back at my family just once more before turning around set one foot inside.

"Hey Kurogiri! Did you bring the food or what? I'm fucking starv...ing"

There he was, with his shaggy light blue hair, black clothes and red shoes, and hes chapped skin. Before I even proceeded what was going on, my body ran to him and he already had open arms as if he knew my body would react this way. I jumped on him making him drop to the floor with a loud and hard thud. But he didn't seem to mind. I dont think he even cared at all.

He wrapped me in a tight hug, we both were crying and we didn't care if the others were there or if they listened. To us, it was as if it was only the 2 of us and no one else.

After what seemed like an eternity, we finally pulled apart from each other's embrace. Our faces red and our eyes red and puffy. I felt his cold hands cup my cheek, with the exception of his thumbs. He stared at me with loving eyes.

"You did it freckles! You found your way back home, you found your family." I could hear the happiness and sincerity in his voice but, there was a hint of sadness too.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged his tightly as I whispered in his ear.

"I did it. I'm home." My voice cracked but I could care less.

Again after a long while of talking and catching up, I fished my phone out my pocket to check the time. When I actually looked at the time I gasped softly.

"SSShhhhiiiitttt. I gotta go man." I looked up at my family to see they all had a look of worry.

"Its okay, I'll just get an earful. But I really do need to get back home." I looked to my feet not wanting to see their disappointed faces.

I felt a hand on my shoulder which made me look up. I saw his shaggy blue hair and ruby red eyes.

"Come here really quick." He grabbed my my hand softly and pulled me into what I assumed was his new room. On his bed I saw some of my old stuffies that I used to play with. A smile tugged at my lips.

I flopped on his bed making the neatly placed toys tumble on top of me. I heard a small chuckle coming from Shiggy which made me giggle. I sprung up hugging a giraffe which was my favorite plushie when I was little; with them.

"Freckles...Izuku. You can't become a villain. Whatever you do you can't become...one of us." His voice was strained and cold. I felt my heart shatter. I got up still clutching the giraffe in my arms.

"No! You have showed me how corrupt this world is. How they play favorites, how they judge us on quirks!" I raised my voice with a clenched fist in my pocket.

"So then change it. Become the new symbol of peace. Change the ways of superheros and the government. Then once you change. Change the superhero ways. Change the government. Change the world." He slammed his fist onto the wall making it disintegrate.

"Then and only then would you be worthy of taking down the number 1 Villain organization. The number villain Shigaraki." His eyes were no longer filled coldness and sadness, they were replaced by determination and...happiness.

"Once you are worthy enough, we will meet once again and then we will say our goodbyes." He walked towards me and we put our foreheads together. I felt tears resurfacing to my eyes but I kept it together. He was right. If I wanted the world to change, I had to become someone who people would look up to and follow.

As I stared at his ruby eyes he stared back at my emerald ones. I clenched my jaw and nodded. I looked down hugging my giraffe but then I felt his arms wrap around me.

"Go home. When we meet again, you will have changed the world and become the number one hero." I bit my lip not wanting to cry again. I returned the hug taking in his family scent. I didn't want to leave but I knew I had to, or else things would never change.

After about a couple minutes he walked me back out to meet up with everyone else. We said our goodbyes again and Kurogiri opened another warp gate.

"Oh! Here, your probably want this back." I said sheepishly handing the giraffe but he just shook his head.

"Keep it. Give it to me when we meet again okay?" He gave me bright smile and waved at me. I took a deep breath and put one foot in the gate. I turned around once more to see my family sending me off and waving at me.

I gave them a bright wide smile and walked into the gate. When I walked out the gate I was right in front of the minie market near the dorms. "Damn you Kurogiri. Now I have to walk more." I mumbled to myself which made me chuckle a bit.

I walked up the small hill which on the other side was my dorms but I was really in no rush so I took my time. As I walked slowly up the hill I  pulled out the giraffe which was in my hoodie pocket. As I stared at it, combing its mane I felt tears well uo in my eyes. I bit my lip bot wanting to cry but the tears finally won the war.

The tears spilled and dripped onto the giraffe making me frown. I wiped the tears from the plushie and hugged it tightly as I continued to cry silently as I made my way back to the dorms.

When I finally arrived at the front of the dorms I wiped my tears and my wet cheeks and placed my giraffe in the bag full of snacks so no one would be suspicious of it.

Everyone was already in the dining room eating when they saw me come in. A lot of them stared at me in shock while others (Bakugo) ignored me.

"Come and eat with us." Momo suggested but I just shook my head.

"Nah, I'm good, I've got these." I lifted up the bag of snacks that I had around  my wrist and giggled.

"See you tomorrow." Was all I said and headed into my room.

I threw the bag on my desk and flopped on my bed taking out my giraffe. I stared at it with loving eyes as my memories with my family flashed before my eyes.

I will do it. I will become the number 1 hero, I will become the new symbol of peace and I will change our way of life for the better. I will do it. Just you wait.
