The sound of Yuri's snores filled the air as I stared up at the dark ceiling. Because we were leaving tomorrow, Catherine nagged everyone to go to bed early. It'd already been quite some time since everyone settled in, but I wasn't ready to go to bed. The adrenaline from cracking that glass was still fresh in my mind.
I'd tried to reach out to Nan a few times, but I felt something block me before I could reach the reverie. Something told me she was probably a bit irked that I'd used her Guang without asking again, and for such a petty reason at that.
I turned in bed, the scene of the exploding glass repeating constantly in my head. I didn't even understand why I got so riled up when I saw that woman clinging onto Justin. It wasn't my first time seeing that. Justin just seemed to attract attention from women wherever he went.
Why did I have to jump in like that?
When I saw Tristan with other women, I didn't feel the same irritating feeling stir within me. Rolling back over to my side, I glared at the floor before flinging the blanket off of me.
There was too much on my mind. I couldn't sleep.
Standing up slowly, I held my breath and carefully tiptoed over to the door. Closing the door as cautiously as possible, I glanced up and spotted Gray standing behind the bartender counter.
Maneuvering my way over to him, I collapsed into a seat. Gray looked up from his clean glasses and blinked in surprise. Having to lean in and raise the volume of his voice because it was so loud, he shouted, "Why are you out here?"
"I couldn't sleep!" I responded.
Gray smirked and continued wiping the glasses down. Someone came up from next to me and ordered a drink. I watched as Gray pulled out a fancy looking glass and poured a red liquid inside.
The customer took it thankfully and headed over to his buddies. Before Gray could pick up another glass to wipe down, a man ran up to the counter and pointed to the back of the room. "Sorry, Gray. It seems like Eugene collapsed in his puke again. "
Gray sighed and massaged his temples. "That bastard...does he think I'm his caretaker?"
Putting the glass he was holding down a little too forcefully, he stomped away to tend to Eugene.
I glanced back at the line of drinks on the wall and decided to take advantage without Justin and the others' supervision. Jumping over the bartender table, I let my eyes slide across the colorful array of drinks and caught the same bottle I had tried to get last time before Justin stopped me.
Quickly jumping up and catching it in my arms, I glanced down at the bottle, attracted to its pretty amber color that strongly reminded me of the color of Justin's eyes.
I hopped back over the table and poured myself a drink. Justin and Tristan had refused to let me take a drink last time, but I didn't see how this was going to hurt me in any way. I was only a year younger than Justin, and as long as I was careful, I suspected it wouldn't have any strong adverse effects.
Bringing the glass to my lips, I sniffed and winced from the strong smell that emitted from the glass. Shaking my head away from the doubts that began to form in my head, I tilted my head back and parted my lips.
Immediately, I gagged and pulled the glass away. The liquid burned my throat and left a bitter and spicy aftertaste. Wincing at the bottle, I stared wearily at the glass, wondering what possibly could be so appetizing about alcohol.
I waited for the alcohol to hit, but I didn't feel any different. Maybe a second glass...
Pouring myself another glass, I chugged it down and immediately shivered from the spicy burn. Gagging, I pushed both of the glasses away and shook my head. I hopped over the counter, ignoring the disbelieving glances I was getting from the other waiting customers and grabbed a glass of water.
