Chapter 38

I don't know why I even have to mention it at this point but...

Ashley's POV

We finished preparing the sauce and I filled a pot with water. I placed the pot on the stovetop and put the water to boil. While I was waiting for that to heat, I took some defrosted ground beef out of the fridge and placed that on a pan. I put the pan on one of the burners and heated that up, shifting the meat with a large spoon in order to cook it through. Payton grabbed noodles out from the cupboard and took a small portion out of the box. He walked over next to me, broke the noodles and placed them into the pot of water.

When the beef was done cooking, I turned off the stove and poured in the sauce. We waited for the noodles to finish cooking while payton occasionally stirred them to keep them from sticking to the bottom of the pan. When they were cooked through, Payton poured the pot into a strainer to drain out all the water and then dumped the leftover noodles back into the pot.

"Food's ready," I said to the rest of the group, "You guys can serve yourselves but I'm not actually hungry."

"Yeah I'm not hungry either," Payton added.

"We could watch a movie in the basement?" I suggested.

"Yeah sounds good to me," He responded.

"Wait, what did your mom say about the sleepover?" Lily asked as we were about to leave.

"Oh, yeah you guys can stay, but I'm not allowed to be in the same bed as Payton and Brent can't be in the same bed as Angelica," I sighed.

"What?" Angelica scoffed, "It's not like we're gonna do anything, we're literally around all of our friends what the hell."

"Yeah I tried to tell her that," I rolled my eyes.

"And how did mom find out about you and Payton already?"

"I mentioned it to her, which probably wasn't the smartest idea, but there's no going back now."

"You really sabotaged our cuddling Ash," Payton frowned at me.

"We'll cuddle during the movie, Payt. Now, lets gooo," I tugged at his wrist. He laughed at my struggle and threw me over his shoulder. 

Damn it, not this again. I thought we were done with this phase of picking me up.

Whelp I guess I'll just deal with this.

He brought me down the stairs and threw me on the couch. He sat down next to me and grabbed the remote and started scrolling through the different shows on the TV shows.

"Oooo you should turn on 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' it's a good movie," I squealed.

"Okay sure," He laughed and searched up the movie and turned it on. He set down the remote and reclined his seat on the couch. He then placed his hands firmly on the sides of my waist and pulled me next to him so that we shared a seat. I leaned against his chest and extended my arm across his torso. His arm snaked around my shoulder and he pulled me even closer.

I looked up at him and stared into his pretty eyes and he looked back at me. He smirked as I pulled him into a quick peck on the lips.

Hella short chapter I'm sorry but I kinda had to rush this chapter.

It's only 500 words which is half of the normal lengths of the book-

I'm struggling to write lately and I had to write this chapter in 30 minutes so it's not very detailed.
