Chapter 8

Ashley's POV

We drove to school. The car ride was filled with stupid jokes and Angelica telling us to 'stop flirting' which we always responded quickly with "WE'RE NOT!"

Her usual response was "Sureeeeeee," causing us to roll our eyes.

When we arrived, I parked my car and we all got out to see Brent and Cole walking up to the car.

"Yoooo," Brent called out.

"Oh hey guys," Payton replied, giving a sweet smile.

Ah the dimplesss, they're infecting my brain.

If there's anything I'll simp for everytime: it's dimples. They just make such a perfect smile.

The five of us talked with each other for a while when the first bell finally rang, indicating we needed to start heading to class. Everyone else split off in the directions of their classes, leaving just me and Payton walking to our first period class: math. After only getting around three hours of sleep, our conversation honestly made no sense because of our tiredness. I can't even remember what the heck we were talking about because we were half asleep at the time.

Now that I think about it, I probably shouldn't have been driving that low energy, but I'm still alive, so I guess it's fine

School ended and I walked to my car with Payton to see Angelica was already leaning up against the car ready to go.

"Can you drive?" I asked her. I actually hate driving, and I just wasn't in the mood.

"Sure, but you can't sit in the front then because you didn't let me," She laughed.

I pouted and handed her the keys.

"It's fine, Payton will sit in the back with me right?" I said looking at Payton with puppy eyes as I sat down

"Of course I will," He laughed.

"Nope, nope, nope!" Angelica yelled, "Payton is sitting in front with me, I am tired of being a third wheel in your weird friendship!"

"Nooooo," I whined.

"Too late," She laughed, pushing Payton into the front passenger seat.

Um, hands off- wait why is this kind of making me mad to see her do that. Like I seriously don't want her to touch him, even if she was just messing with me yesterday about liking him, I hate the idea of her putting her hands on him.

"Sorry Ash," He pouted at me from the front seat.

Angelica sat down in the driver's seat and began driving.

"I get aux," I said plugging in my phone

"You guys wanna hang out today?" Payton asked after a couple minutes.

"I'm down," I answered, "Wanna invite the others too?"

"Yeah sure, we can go to my house if you want," He replied.

"Sounds good, I'll ask our mom," Angelica said.

"Yep, and I'll text the group"
