Chapter 37

Ashley's POV

"HE DID END UP STEALING MY WIFE!" Tessa widened her eyes and she shouted in a tone that I couldn't tell if it was happy or slightly angry.

"Oh my god congratulations, but what happened with Serenity? Wasn't she literally your girlfriend yesterday?" Angelica looked at Payton in surprise.

"I broke up with her," He answered awkwardly.

"When?"

"This morning..." He trailed off.

"So you broke up with Serenity and then got with Ashley right after...?" Tessa's bubbly look morphed into a destructive glare, "My best friend is not your rebound."

"Woah you're totally misunderstanding that," He widened his eyes, "I broke up with her so I could tell Ashley that...yeah."

"Tell her what?" She looked at him in total confusion.

"That I'm in love with her..." He muttered.

"Oh....well that's cute so I can't get mad now," Tessa huffed.

"And now you made him awkward and nervous thanks Tessa," I shot her a 'rude much?' look.

"Yeah I have social anxiety now," He said sarcastically.

"Look at Tessa ruining people's lives again," Cole mocked.

"Boo Tessa," Brent added.

"Boo Tessaaaa," Lily, Angelica, and I said in sync.

"Boo Tessa...oh shit that's me," Tessa joked.

We laughed and talked for a little bit and Payton looked a little less tense. I'm pretty sure that Tessa scared him, and he probably wasn't ready to admit that to everyone else. I totally understood why the poor guy was uncomfortable.

"Anyways, I just wanted you guys over for the secret santa and the relationship thing, so I don't really know what to do now," I laughed.

"Can we sleep over?" Lily asked with excitement in her eyes.

"I mean, I can ask my parents," I shrugged.

"Our parents," Angelica corrected.

"I came first, they were mine before yours," I teased.

"I am so done with you talking about being oder," He scoffed and leaned back so that she was leaning on Brent, "It's two minutes Ashley. You're rediculous," She dramatically rolled her eyes.

"Yeah okay," I ignored her mini-meltdown and I started to walk towards the stairs. I climbed up and knocked on my parents' door.

"Come in!" I heard my mom say pleasantly.

"Hey," I smiled as I walked into the room. My mom was sitting at her vanity applying lip product while my dad was sitting on the bed with his focus set on his laptop that was placed in his lap.

"What is it that you need, sweetheart?" My mom asked.

"Can everyone stay the night tonight?" I asked.

"I don't know if I want Brent staying..." She pursed her lips.

"Why not?" I shot her a confused look.

"Well, because he's Angelica's boyfriend now I don't really want anything happening when he stays here," He said awkwardly.

"Oh," I said blankly, "Speaking of boyfriends, Payton just asked me out today, so I guess he can't stay either?"

She paused what she was doing and turned to me, "So you're meaning to tell me that my Ashley actually has a boyfriend?" She left her mouth hanging open.

"Ouch mom, am I really that undesirable?" I laughed.

"No, no it's not that, but I thought you just didn't like the whole relationship idea in general. Also, I thought you were done with Payton after what happened with that Serenity girl. Weren't they dating?"

"He broke up with her because he still had feelings for me," I smiled remembering the way he told me he loved me.

"Well, as much as I don't want your boyfriends staying over, I don't want Cole to be the only boy, so I'll make an acception. I don't want you sleeping in the same beds though."

"C'mon mommmm," I whined, "I want cuddles, and I used to cuddle with him all the time before we were dating and you didn't care."

"But that was before you were dating," She said as she picked up her eyeliner pencil.

"It's not like we're gonna do anything mom we literally got together like an hour ago," I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, but if I let you sleep next to your boyfriend, it wouldn't be fair to not let Angelica sleep by hers."

"But I'm older," I said jokingly.

"Yeah sure that two minutes makes a huge difference," She laughed, "But no is no, Ashley."

"Mom, Angelica and Brent aren't going to do anything. We'll all be there in the basement with them," I argued.

"Ashley Willow, if you want them to stay over they will not be sleeping in the same bed and that's final," She said, applying eyeliner to her lower waterline.

"Okay," I sighed and exited the room. I walked back down into the living room to see everyone was gone.

"Guys?!?" I called out in confusion.

"Kitchen!" Angelica shouted back. I walked into the kitchen to see Payton standing by the sink with the water running. I approached him to see that he was washing the bowls from the icecream we left out earlier.

"Aww, thank you Payt," I smiled. He turned to me and gave a soft smile back.

"No problem Ash."

Everyone else was sitting down and on their phones.

"So did you guys just go in here to be on your phones?" I asked, surveying the room.

"Nah we were..like....hungry," Lily answered.

"Then why don't you...like...eat?" I mocked.

"I was too lazy to open the fridge and find something," Angelica groaned, looking up from her phone. I laughed and walked over to the fridge and opened it.

"I can make spaghetti," I suggested happily. I loved to cook. It made me happy to make things other people could enjoy.

"Sounds good to me," Brent muttered still lost, staring at the technology in his hand.

"Anyone wanna help me?" asked, taking out tomatoes and garlic from the fridge.

"Yeah sure," Payton smiled as he turned off the sink, "Lemme just put these bowls away," He said as he picked up a towel to dry his hands. He put the towel back down and picked up the bowls from the sink. He walked over to the covered and placed them in their normal spot.

I grabbed more ingredients and brought them to the counter. I took out two cutting boards and I started to dice the tomatoes on one, "Can you cut the garlic Payt?"

"Mhm," He muttered, picking up the small clear bag of garlic. I turned back to the tomatoes and kept cutting.

Okay weird place to stop but I needed to get an update out

This chapter is kinda boring sorry
