NAPAANGAT ang tingin ko nang may naglapag ng sa nakikita ko ay isang invitation letter.

"May nag papabigay po Doctora," sabi ng secretary ko bago ito lumabas ng opisina ko. 

I removed my glasses and stared at the invitation. It's a combination of black and silver as its lining. It has my name printed on it. I already know who gave it to me, but I just want to make sure.

I picked it up and opened it. As what I've expected, it's a birthday invitation from Loey.

It's finally Sunday and it is only my free day. Bukas na 'yong party and I haven't bought a dress yet. So I decided to call Lyn and help me buy one. She's a model and she knows a lot of things about fashion.

"Sis!" bungad niya sa akin ng tumawag ako sa kanya.

"Are you busy? Magpapasama sana ako sa mall eh. Help me choose a dress,"

"Sino bang may birthday?" Tanong nito sa kabilang linya.

"Who do you think?"

"OMG! Si Kuya Shaun? Ininvite ka? Ay sana all!"

I rolled my eyes because of her response. "Ano? Sasama ka ba?" I asked her again.

"Yes naman. Tutal may magbabantay naman sa anak ko... Hon stop- Nakikiliti ako, ano ba..." I heard her whisper which made me roll my eyes again.

"I'll end this call na at mukhang nakakaistorbo pa yata ako sa inyo. I'll send the location okay?" I bid my goodbye and ended the call.

I went down from my bed and then took a shower.

"Try this one... this one... and this!"

I am just following her around, kinikuha ang tinuturo niya dahil isusukat ko ito mamaya. May dalawang salesladies pa ang nakasunod sa amin, bitbit ang mga napiling damit ni Lyn. May hawak din akong lima. Imagine, isa lang naman ang bibilhin ko pero halos ubusin na nito ang buong boutique.

"Ayan! Go! Sukatin mo na," natatawang sambit nito. "Excited na ako!" dagdag pa nito.

I gave an apologetic smile to the two salesladies before I went inside the fitting room. Nakailang palit pa ako dahil hindi iyon nagustuhan ni Lyn. Ang sarap niyang hambalusin ng mga gown na 'to.

"We're on the last gown at wala ka paring napipili," sambit ko sa loob ng fitting room habang sinusuot ang panghuling gown na napili kanina.

"It's okay, malay mo 'yan na ang magustuhan ko. Save the best for last nga diba?" she replied.

"Eh paano kung hindi mo ulit magustuhan?" naiinis ko nang tanong.

I heard her hissed from the outside. "Then we'll move on to the next boutique," she replied boredly.

"Ready na?" she asked.

I couldn't reply. I was in awe by the last gown. It's a silver long-sleeved dress with a long slit on the right leg. It has a round neckline but the back is open. And the way it shines every time the light hits it, it's so stunning.

"Ano na? Nakain ka na yata ng salamin diyan eh," Lyn kept on knocking at the door of the fitting room.

"Wait," I replied and fixed myself first before I went out.

Lyn was frowning on her seat, her arms crossed over her chest. But when she saw me, her mouth dropped open and her eyes widened. Napailing-iling na pumalakpak pa ito.
