We're Official

I WOKE up around 5:30 in the morning to prepare myself because it is my first day of being a second year nursing student. I got up, took a shower and wore my white uniform. I just ate my cereal because I was too excited to go to school.

Before I went inside kuya's car, Ciato ran up to me and I carried him, nagpapalambing. I kissed the top of it's head and bid my goodbye to my mama and papa who are casually sitting on the sofa with their cup of coffee on top of the coffee table.

"Ingat, kuya," I kissed his cheek and he ruffled my hair.

"Good luck on your first day!" I shouted, kahit na naglakad na ito palayo.

"You too, princess!" kuya shouted back before glancing back to his girlfriend who's standing next to him.

Niña smiled to me and I gave her a small one. Gusto ni kuya na tawagin ko ang girlfriend niya bilang 'Ate Niña' but I disagreed, I already forgave that woman, but I will never forget what happened to us during our first encounter.

I ran as fast as I could para mahanap kaagad ang bagong classroom namin. And as soon as I entered, loud screams filled the whole room. Liza and Yumero were already there, some of my classmates during our first year were also there so I gave them a smile. Merong mga baguhan but I know na magkakasundo din kami.

I gave Yumero and Liza a tight hug and they returned it wholeheartedly.
We talked about our summer vacation, where we went and everything. Sila pa ngalang nakakausap ko paano pa kaya kapag kasama na 'yung apat.

"Sana all may inuuwiang probinsiya," sabi ni Liza kay Yumero.

"Tell us kung anong mayroon sa Iloilo," I asked Yume.

"Grabe, sis! Ang daming nag bago! Well, it has been years since ang last balik namin doon sa kanila ni Lola, so expected ko na talaga na ang daming nagbago. Lots of tall buildings, malls, huge universities..." pagkw-kwento ni Yume.

We stopped talking when George, our homeroom president last year, entered our classroom.

"George, ikaw ulit president ah." Ani Liza at tsaka kinindatan si George.

George just shook his head and then he turned his attention to me, "Evangelista, may naghahanap sa'yo sa labas, jowa mo ba 'yun?" natatawang tanong nito.

Naningkit ang mga mata ko. Wala naman akong naaalala naㅡ

Oh my god! Don't tell me nandito siya ngayon?!

Dali-dali akong lumabas ng room. And to my surprise, I saw Loey leaning against the wall, his one hand is inside the pocket of his black jeans. Nang nakita niya ako ay umayos ito ng tayo.

"Good morning," he greeted with a wide smile, and damn those dimples.

"G-good morning," I stuttered.

He handed me a starbucks reusable cup filled with ice caramel macchiato. I'm a bit confused but I accepted it.

"Oh, is this for Liza?" I asked while smiling. Idiot, of course it's for his sister.

"Sandali, ibibigay ko lang 'to sa kanya,"

I was about to turn my back at him when he held my wrist, then he chuckled. "That's for you,"

I blinked twice. Biglang bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko.

I tucked a strand of my hair behind my left ear, and bit the insides of my cheeks because of kilig. Naramdaman ko ring uminit ang pisngi ko. He was looking at me with a wide smile, his right hand is inside the pocket of his jeans while the other is holding the strap oh his bag.
