Birthday

Hinahatak ako ni Lucian, ayokong humakbang pero dahil mas malakas siya sa akin ay napapatianod ako sa paghila niya. Nagpro-protesta pa rin ako tungkol sa hindi pagtanggap roon pero hindi ako pinapakinggan ni Lucian.

"Lucian! Ayoko! Hindi ko iyan tatanggapin."

"Baby please, let me spoil you just once." my heart swells on his endearment. Ramdam ko ang bahagyang pagyanig ng binuo kong pader para sa pirmi kong desisyon na hindi ko iyon tatanggapin kahit ano pa ang mangyari. Pero bakit parang pinagdududahan ko na ang sarili ko ngayon.

"But this is too much!"

"It's not. It's your birthday you deserve to recieve this gift." I groaned. He's so persistent! Nagtagumpay siya na dalhin ako sa tapat ng sasakyan. He's chuckling as he look at my crumpled face.

"My decision is still firm." I crossed my arms over my chest and he arched a brow.

"Let's see if your mind wouldn't change." panghahamon niya sa akin at hindi ko alam kung bakit may biglang crack na nabuo sa pader na binuo. Nahuhulog na ang ibang parte noon. He inch the gap towards me and I gasped when he put his arm on my waist.

"What are you doing?"

Is he using my weakness on me?!

"I know your not into material things but I know you're wishing to have your own car. I can see the delight in your eyes while you're driving and I want to see your eyes spark more in turning the steering wheel of your own car."

"But I can drive our SUV! Kahit iyon na lang muna."

"You're parents are using that right? Minsan ay nagcocommute ka kapag walang sasakyan."

"Kaya ko naman!"

"Hindi ako naniniwala. You can't even cross the road even there's a pedestrian lane." sinamaan ko siya agad ng tingin ng maalala ang tagpo na iyon. Humalakhak siya pero sinindot ang pisngi ko. Mabilis na nawala ang talim ng tingin ko.

Naalala ko iyong muntik na akong mabangga ng sasakyan. I almost die in that moment! I can't forgot that scene, but what really mark on my mind is Lucian dark expression when I run away from him towards our SUV and left him in the side of the street while looking at me. He was like he want to hold me but before he can even do it, I vanish.

"I'm serious, ibalik mo na lang ito sa binili mo---" he groaned that I was halted on my words. Kumunot ang noo ko.

"Wala akong ibabalik. You own this already. Sayong sayo na 'to. Gusto mo kasama pa ako." my mouth parted.

"Babayaran na lang kita." his brows furrowed but it immediately vanish and he bit his lower lip to stifle a smile like a sudden idea come on his mind.

"Okay, kapag may trabaho ka na. You can pay the 20% of the price. I'll just accept a payment from your salary and not from your allowance." I creased my forehead.

Bakit pakiramdam ko ay hindi naman totoo itong sinasabi niya? Na para bang hindi niya talaga ako pagbabayarin at sinasakyan lang ang gusto kong mangyari para matapos na ang usapan.

"Matagal pa akong makakapagtrabaho. That's four years from now."

"Wala akong pakialam. I can wait."

"Bakit 20% lang?"

"Your boyfriend give you a discount." aniya at ang mga pakpak ng paru-paro sa tiyan ko ay kinikiliti ako. My heart twisted. Nalaglag ang panga ko.

"How can you be so sure that it still us after four years?" I said it almost unadible. I averted my gaze at him. Ramdam ko ang pagtitig niya sa akin.
