Chapter 2

[Faultfinder]

The morning sun peered through the thin ruffled curtains, swallowing anything in its pathway with a sparkling gold. It was friday morning which meant that Cala needed to be in the office again.

Despite the freedom of being able to sleep, the light sleeper inside of Cala gently woke her up to the gold spilling onto the grey bed sheets. She sat up with a lions mane hair and yawned with her eyes still shut closed until she rubbed them with her hands and opened them, fully awakening to her surroundings.

Cala sighed, fixing her hair, stretched her arms before standing up. There is no way she would be late for work. Cala walked inside the bathroom to shower. After a couple of minutes Cala went out of tge bathroom with her damped hair and towel clad to her body. She walked inside of her walk in closet. There were three big closet and an island at the middle inside.

She settled with a navy blue lady suit with a white dress shirt and black heels. After drying her hair and combing it afterwards she started to get her things up to go downstairs and make some breakfast for herself. As she was finally downstairs she put her bag on the table while her blazer was hanged on the chair.

The dining table was filled with bacons, egg, and bread just enough serving for her and together with warm milk. She started to devour her food.

I arrived at the head office just in time and I was welcomed by my secretary handing me my schedule for today. “Oh and before I forgot chief you'll be observing the coffee shop also because the higher ups received some reports that the cost of the products are way expensive for that benefit of the customer and the company. You are expected to observe the shop for about a week.” Lara my secretary informed as I read through the pages of the memo.

“I'll be heading out now to go there. Just call me if anything happens here. I'll let Travis be in charge here while I'm away.” I said with full authority. I wore my blazer and placed my bag on ny table getting my wallet and phone only with me. I entered my car and drive off to the place.

As I parked my car I noticed that there is no customer inside which is odd since it was almost winter and it's morning a lot of people would want to sip a coffee before going to work but not for me. I pushed the door open as I walk inside I can hear the clicking sound of my heels. There were only two workers inside. I sat at one of the stools at the counter.

“Good morning.” one of the barista greeted me as she handed me the menu. She was cleaning the counter and I noticed the the other girl at the corner organizing somethings on the shelf her back was facing me. “Tea with less caffeine should be it.” I said to the barista in front of me. She just nodded as she walk towards the girl at the counter I saw them talking to each other but I didn't get to hear what ut was about.

The girl suddenly turned around facing me which made me halt from my seat. I immediately composed my self while breathing steadily. I shook my head trying to brush off my thoughts. “Your tea will be up.” the girl softly said as she smiles at me. I can feel my heart thumping so hard.

I rested my elbows at the counter as U fiddle with my fingers. I watch her walk around the area. I teared my eyes off from her. “This tea is very delicate yet has an intimate taste. The smell may be not so pleasing but once you drink it. It will make your mind and body warm.” she explained to me as she put teh glass down pushing it towards me. I grab the cup taking a sip of it. I've already tasted this yesterday.

“She is the tea master and she also good with coffees. She won the contest that the head office had held last year. Everybody that tasted her tea always saud that the tea is a perfection.” the barista butted in making me look at her through her eyes not showing any single emotion. “I'm sorry about her we are just nervous because we were informed yesterday that someone from the head office will be evaluating us.” she apologized to me while smiling a little. I face remained stoic and just then I remembered on what I was ask to do.

I was about to open my mouth when I heard the barista talk. “I heard that the one that will be evaluating us is a faultfinder.” I grit my teeth out of annoyance. “I'm sorry to introduce myself this late.” I simply uttered as I open my wallet to take my calling card out and handed it to her. She was a little hesistant but took it.

“I'm Cala Suarez chief manager of the marketing department from the head office and I will be the one to evaluating.” I can see how the barista nudge the woman un front of me as I look into her eyes feeling lost to those beautiful set of feline eyes I've been meaning to meet again.
