Chapter 11

[Opportunity]

C A L A -

Nothing special happened last night. We just ate together but sleep separately. She's inside the car right now while I'm talking to someone on the phone. As soon as it was done I entered my car so I can drop her off to her place.

Elle was looking at us weirdly as I drop her off. “You sure there ain't happened anything last night?” she asked for the nth time already. “For the last time and as much as I remember nothing happened last night so if you would excuse I should go.” I politely answered her since I was needed at the office later at 8:00 am.

I stood up from their couch waving goodbye when someone tug the hem of my shirt. I look at Sienna's hand that was preventing me from going. “Are going to the coffee shop today?” she asked letting go the hem of my shirt. I smiled at her apologetically before answering. “I'm packed today because my presence is being called right now at the office for some important reason but I'll try to find time.” I said before smiling widely at her.

I left their place at 7:15 am and I still have 45 minutes to get ready and get my ass off to the office. As soon as I opened the door of my house I went upstairs and entered my bedroom. I took a short bath since I already took a bath before we left. I look at all the clothes that I have. All my dress shirts are either white or black so I chose to wear a white one for today.

Looking at my wrist watch it's 7:40 am already so I grabbed my bag that has my personal needs in it before going out. I entered my car driving off to the office. Once I arrived my secretary welcomed me and reminded me about the meeting that Mr. Remora scheduled for today. This will be a long ass meeting.

“Ma'am would you like some coffee?” Mr. Remora's secretary asked but I declined her offer. I sat down inside the meeting room alongside with my team and also with Travis. He was beside me murmuring somethings that I don't even understand.  “Stop that you sound like a bee.” I whispered at him as he look at me. “I'm sorry I just feel nervous. I'll tell you why later after this.”

“So as I was saying I was planning to send your team with you off to Singapore. It's a great opportunity for us, for you Cala and also for your team. I've recommended you and your team their. Think of it as a early off. I know that you still need to be at the coffee shop for five days but if you and your team agrees then the last two days of that five days will be your preparation before going.” Mr. Remora said

“I'll talk to my team Mr. Remora. I would gladly accept your offer but I also need to ask them first before signing this contract so let me talk to them first. We'll give you our answers tonight if ever.” I replied he stood up smiling at me. “Than I'll wait for your answer.” was the last thing he said before going out of the meeting room. Everyone inside the meeting room was looking at me so I stood up at the center.

“First of all I want to congratulate all of you for your hard work and great skills. You have already heard about what Mr. Remora said that one team will be flying off to Singapore next week and I'm happy to say that we are that team so I want to know all your opinions about this. I know it is a great opportunity to us but I also know that some of you have a family that'll be left behind here. The contract was three years.” I looked at them they were all smiling but I can see the sadness in their eyes.

“Ms. Cala like what you said we have families here then why not bring then also to Singapore then just come back here.” one of my them said. “I like your idea, I can pay for all of you but it'll be hard adjusting since it's a different country. What do you all say?” I asked them whatever they answer to me it's fine though I want to accept the offer but also I need to think of my team also.

“Ms. Cala will be going.” all of them said at the same time. “We know that it will be hard adjusting and finding a new home there but we will not let this opportunity slide it could be a big help to our families in th near future.”  I nod at what he said. “I'll schedule a meeting tomorrow and we'll talk about your concerns tomorrow. Better brief your families about this, we are scheduled to go next week so better be prepared.” I assuringly smiled at them.

“Travis your team will be the one in charge here until I come back.” I informed him as we both walk out of the meeting room. “What about Sienna?” he asks “What do you mean?” I ask back not knowing what he wants to point out. “Aren't you going to tell Sienna about this?” he ask.

“Look we are not even friends and I don't think she consider me as her friend but as their evaluator I'll inform them about the said changes but not all of it since it's not their business anymore.” I answered his question seriously. I don't even know if Sienna considered me as her friend since we only met for like what two days ago.
