Chapter 14

I closed the ramp to our quinjet and took off from the pad of the Raft prison. I used my powers to clear a path for us through this storm.

"How are we looking?" Steve as taking the co-pilot chair

"We should be out of this storm in a few minutes. Where are we headed?" I asked we never really come up with a plan after breaking the others out.

"I have the coordinates, but we need to discuss it with everyone. Once we clear the storm put it on auto." He said then headed back to the back. After about ten minutes the storm let up, but it was still cloudy, but the rain and winds had stopped, I set the jet to auto, and I walked to the back."

"Is everyone ok?" I asked sitting next to Sam, and I looked at his eye

"I've had worse."

"Sure, tough guy." I said nudging him lightly

"What's the plan?" I asked

"We're going back to Venna. "He and I looked at him

"Excuse me?" I said

"I reached out to Tony he's going to meet us there Clint and Scott need to get back to their families.' Nat said

"Are they going to allow that? I mean I don't want to walk you guys back into the same situation." I said

"Tony is working on a deal for them as we speak." He and I nodded

'Alright so I'll set our course for Venna." I said then I walked back to the cockpit,

"You're getting pretty good at that." Sam said taking the seat next to me

"Well I had a pretty good teacher." I said with a smile

"Well not to pat my own back."

"Oh, you thought I was talking about you? No, I was talking about my uncle." I teased and he rolled his eyes

"How is he doing by the way?"

"He's stable, he's talking he's been through one surgery. We're waiting to hear back from a neurosurgeon I used to work with, but they just made it to Columbia yesterday."

"Look I'm sorry I saw just trying to duck. I never thought it would hit him I tried to catch him."

"It's ok, I'm glad he's alive. I think we all should take some of the blame." I told him and he nodded then looked at me

"Um you should go change out of your prison uniform."

"Says the fugitive." He said and I laughed

"Don't hate because you were dumb enough to get caught."

"Oh, you got jokes. Look I'll go change then I can take over so you can get some rest."

"Thanks Sam." I said and he nodded with a smile

We had just left Venna Steve gave Sam a new set of coordinates, so we were now headed wherever that was.

"What wrong?" Nat asked sitting across from me

"I wish I could be with them, especially now."

"Look Tony got Clint and Scott a good deal they're probably going to end up on house arrest. He can do the same for you."

"I would have to stop everything to answer to the government. They might not even let me practice medicine which has always been my first love. Then I don't want to live in a world where you have to ask permission to save lives."

"I get it."

"It's just hard, did you give Tony my letters?"

"Yes, and he wanted me to tell you Rhodey is going into surgery tonight."

"Oh, good they got Strange?"

"No, he got into a really bad car accident last night."

"Oh, shit is he ok?"

"He's alive but his hands are broken form what Tony told me."

"Wow  so who did he get?"

"Hoover, I think he said the name was."

"I don't know him but what if he can't do it?"

"Don't say that Tony found him, so only the best you know it."

"Strange was the best, he could probably do this in his sleep."

"Stay positive, Rhodey is tough he's going to come through this. Plus, he has Stark cash behind him." She and I chuckled as Steve walked into the kitchen area

"What's so funny."

"None of your business.' Nat told him

"Where are we going by the way?" I asked him

"Wakanda." He said and I if weren't already sitting, I would have fell 

'Why the hell are we going there? I thought as T'Challa warm brown eyes popped into my head making me smile a little
