I woke up to a pair of blue eyes staring at my face.

"We are still waiting." He said.

"For what?" I asked. I noticed that I was now strapped to the chair. I couldn't escape. I felt cold and a rush of cravings filled my sole. I felt hungry. Like I needed blood. And I needed to kill someone or something. I felt anger and rage. My body felt empty to the point where I felt like I was starving.

"To see if you will pass or not. You still have to change. To finish the cycle. But you need to agree with the rules and terms of the family." He explained.

"Okay, yeah. Sure, whatever." Those were the worst words I ever said. The words that I didn't know I would regret. For eternity.

"Ok."

"So, what now?" I asked.

"We wait. If you survive, you pass. But if you don't..." His voice trailed off

My brain went into panic mode and my sole wanted to hide. I didnt want to hear the what ifs and the maybes. I wanted to know for sure. I wanted to know the truth on what was going to happen. The boy was in front of me. Staring deep into my eyes with concern and hope. I knew that if I didn't make it, my life would have been lived worthless. And if I made it, I would still live, but I wouldn't actually be living. I heard the door to the room open and looked to see who it was.

"Alex, how is she?" Josh asked.

"She's in transition." The boy who I now found out was Alex said. He glanced at Josh then back at me. He stood up and turned to face Josh again and met him half way across the room.

"Why do you even care?" I heard Josh ask.

"Because Victor asked me to watch her. What's up with you?"

"Just warning you. Remember what happened last time."

Last time? What happened last time?!

"Its not like that. Don't be stupid."

"Ok." I heard the door open and close shortly after they were done talking.

"Sorry about that." Alex apologized.

I shook my head. "It's fine." I said, trying to avoid a very sharp pain.

"Is it starting?" He asked cautiously.

"Aaaah! What do you think?!" I asked with anger in my voice.

Alex backed up a few steps.

My whole body hurt. Excruciating pain filled my sole. My canine teeth grew to a large point and I felt like ripping someone's head apart. My face hurt as my flesh turned from peach to pale. My heart slowed to a very low pulse until I blacked out, yet again.

This time I woke up in my room. Alone.

I wanted to know what just happened. But at rhe same time I didnt. I didnt feel right this time. I didnt feel normal. Not human. I left the room and walked down the hallway to the library, hoping to find some answers. As I turned the corner, I saw Josh and his eyes met mine.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked with a pathetic smile.

I rolled my eyes and walked about the room, searching for something that could potentially answer my questions.

"You should stay away from Alexander. He's dangerous." He warned.

"If you haven't noticed, I'm trying my best to avoid you."

"I know. Just putting out a few pointers before you get too close to him."

"And how would you know?"

"Because I've seen what he does. And it's not pretty. Trust me, you dont want to know."

I found a book called The Myths of Demons. I took it off the shelf and turned towards the door. But before I could start walking, Josh grabbed my wrist rather tightly.

"I'm warning you."

"Let her go." Someone demanded.

Josh immediately dropped my wrist from his grip. We looked to see Alex in the doorway.
