I turned my head before our faces almost touched. I leaned close to his ear, feeling the coldness from his pale skin.
"I'm happy that you...shared the information about Vicky with me." I whispered.
"Sure," He whispered back. I could tell that he was disappointed in not kissing me. But I felt it was for the best. "Just stay safe, ok?"
"I will." I gave him a warm smile as he stood up from the bench. He smiled back at me making my mind get all giddy and happy.
"I'm gonna go back to the mansion. I'll be in my room if you need me." He turned and walked out of the maze. The ground crunching with every step he took across the pebbled path.
"I know what's wrong with you." A voice said out of nowhere. I look all around me. There was no one in sight.
"I'm not afraid of you." I said, my voice shaking and showing fear. I tried to be confident, but it was no use. Fear took over my body as it trembled from my standing position and back to the bench.
"Oh, but you will be."
"What do you want?"
"You are an immortui succo and you need help."
"Excuse me?" I asked. I couldn't believe this person. If it was a person.
"Immortui succo. Latin for undead vampire. Don't think I don't know who you are. I can see that you are still alive and well. I can smell your scent from anywhere. I can hear your heart beat trying to beat against your dying body. You aren't alive, but at the same time you are."
A rush of wind sped up. The monster revealing himself from behind a maze bush wall. He was the boy from the woods. The boy who everyone was worried about me seeing and being captured. They took Vicky, and now he and his pack want to take me. I was scared and knew that if I tried to scream, something awful might happen.
"I've heard about you. What you did to that poor girl. How you killed her, trying to turn her. I know what you can do."
"So I see they have told you." He gave a soft, light hearted chuckle.
"What do you want."
"To help you. No one else knows your an undead vamp except you and I. Look at the odds sweetheart. If you don't get help sooner or later, you're better off dead."
I looked down at the floor. I realized that he was right. I didn't have a choice. Did I?
"Come on sweetheart. No one can save you now except me and my pack." He motioned his head for me to follow. I looked back at the mansion over the tops of the bushes.
"Sorry Alex." I whispered under my breath. I looked at the boy and started to walk towards him. He smiled at me. But it looked very fake and sneaky.
"I'm Micah."
