Five and Y/N had exited the building, Luther tagging along once he saw then going down the stairs, too stubborn to stay at home.
So there they were, opening the door to the small yet lively diner. People were chatting away at other table as Five's frantic eyes scanned the room, leaning over from behind Luther to get a better look.
Y/N was already worried about the paradox psychosis for it's nail-biting effects had began to take place already. Five was sweating buckets and he was unusually jumpy.
"Well, there I am," he finally said, pointing to the bar table.
Y/N, Five, and Luther eyed Older Looking Five who had a scornful expression, twirling a glass between his fingers with a briefcase hidden at his feet.
"Why don't we just grab the briefcase and run," Luther asked, shifting his weight as if he were itching to do it.
"It's really not that easy, Luther."
"Yeah, I would never let that happen," Five defended himself. "We're trained to guard these briefcases with our lives."
"Right," Luther shrugged.
"Hey, why don't you be lookout," Y/N sighed. "We don't want the Swedes crashing our party."
"I agree."
"Really? I mean...are you sure? I think I'll need to be here for-"
"I'm here, now beat it," Y/N snapped, pushing Luther away.
Luther sulked but followed his orders as he slouched by the door, peaking in through the window with curiosity as Five rolled his eyes.
"So, what's the plan?"
Five sighed and tightened his tie before looking back at the Older Looking Five.
"Our best shot it to try and talk with him," Five replied. "I can't mess things up, just being in this room threatens my existence."
"Yeah, well, same for your other half, am I correct? He'll try to rid of you," Y/N said.
"Meh. He'll understand. Trust me," Five's confidence was already getting an upper hand. He scratched the back of his neck with a smug smile. "I know myself better than I know myself."
From outside, Luther gapped as he saw the small gesture Five made before he started banging on the window, attracting many heads.
"You just scratched your neck," he whispered yelled to Five, pointing through the glass to him.
Five rolled his eyes and pretended he didn't hear or see Luther as the man pressed his face against the window in urgency. "Let. me. in."
Y/N sucked in a breath and stood in front of Luther to divert Five's attention. She could already feel the nervous sweat radiating off of Five's body, and feeling an urge to support him, she did her best to communicate without talking that told Five she was also nervous. He didn't exactly receive that message.
"He's right, that's stage two of paradox psychosis."
"What? No I didn't," Five chuckled, trying to hide his small slip. "I didn't itch my neck."
"Denial is stage one."
"Y/N...."
"Sorry."
Five sighed and hunched his back as he started to walk to Older Looking Five but Y/N stopped him by putting an arm in front of the boy.
"What," Five spat.
"I should go first," she said.
"Why?"
