"Get up!" Diego bellowed, swinging his leg back to repeatedly kick Hazel in the face.
Hazel groaned in agony, blood dropping down from his nose to the floor as he struggled to get up.
"You know, before you kill him, you might wanna hear what he has to say," Five suggested, leaning back on the counter as he watched the interaction.
Diego ignored Five and continued to beat up Hazel, who shot desperate looks in Y/N and Five's direction, thinking that they were going to step in and stop Diego at any second. However, the pair remained glued to their seats.
There was a scrapping of metal as Diego whipped out a knife from his vest, holding it up to his face as he approached Hazel. "I'm gonna kill you for what you did to Patch."
Diego seethed and swiped at Hazel who yelped and jumped the other way just in time.
"Or don't. See how that goes," Five mumbled.
"Are you gonna-" Hazel started, asking if any of them were going to help him out, before he cut himself off with a yell after Diego stabbed the knife into his thigh.
Y/N sucked in air through her teeth at the sight, shaking her head while Five pursed his lips and chortled at the scene.
"That's got to hurt," the boy drawled out, as if he were a commentator in a game.
Hazel restored himself and pushed Diego's head out of the way, pulling the knife out of his knee with ease.
"Diego, you might wanna stop-"
"Not until I've avenged Patch and all the other people he's killed," Diego replied.
Five and Y/N continued to watch as Hazel and Diego threw punches at each other but they stiffened when Diego abruptly jumped on Hazel's back and took a nasty bite on the man's ear.
"Ew," Y/N whined, scrunching up her nose in disgust.
Five had a similar reaction, but he took it to himself to finally step in as he spatial jumped behind Diego with a glass case in hand. With the element of surprise, he dropped over Diego's head and the attacker he fell on the ground, groaning in pain.
"I draw the line at biting," Five sighed, clicking his tongue.
Y/N jumped off the stool, walking up next to Five as she lightly nudged Diego's limp figure with her foot. "Did you kill him?"
If Five had any concern for his brother, he certainly didn't show it as he only shrugged and walked past Hazel who was still standing in the middle of the room catching his breath, spitting out some blood.
"Hazel, whatever you came here to say, I suggest you make it quick," Five glanced back at Diego's unconscious body. "Before he comes around."
"I left my partner, quit the commission, came to volunteer," Hazel explained. "To help stop the apocalypse."
Y/N scoffed, a grin falling over her face as she laughed. "That's funny."
"What?" Hazel questioned, bewildered. "What on earth could be so funny to you now?"
"Before I answer that, why do you wanna help us," Five stepped in, looking up at his former coworker.
"Let's just say I have a vested interest in a doughnut shop," Hazel answered, looking down at his hands.
Y/N frowned. "Huh?"
"You heard me right."
"Well, I hate to break it to you, pal, but you're a day late and a dollar short," Five smiled earnestly. "The fact that you're here right now seems, without a shadow of a doubt, the apocalypse is over."
