Small mature scene.

"San."

"San, wake up."

"San!"

San groaned as he sat up. He rubbed his eyes. "What?"

"You have school," Seonghwa hissed.

"Okay, mom." San waved him away.

"Your father's outside. Don't keep him waiting."

San rolled his eyes. "I know."

After getting ready, San hugged Seonghwa goodbye and left the house. As he adjusted his messenger bag's strap, he felt a sting in his feet. Then he saw flames on the ground.

"Woah, watch your step!" Hongjoong teased. With a closing fist, the flames disappeared.

"Hey, dad."

"Are you ready for school?"

"..."

"I'll take it as a no." Hongjoong began to drive. "It'll be fine, Sannie. No one will remember Seonghwa's actions. It wasn't his fault."

"I know. I try to tell him every day."

"I'm trying to get Seonghwa to leave the house every few days, but it just results in panic and anxiety. He doesn't want to hurt anyone else." Hongjoong thought for a moment. "You know that already. And you? Remember my number one rule which is-"

"Which is not to use my power to manipulate people," San finished.

"Good."

San dreaded junior year. Having to live among normal humans was hard. What's worse was the fact that his father had, putting this directly, terrorized several humans' lives by wrapping their dreams with darkness. According to town news, they reached the point where they couldn't sleep for the next few weeks after.

San smirked at the thought. His dad just... snapped. His family was interesting. They weren't necessarily humans. They also weren't monsters—San liked to think so.

"Bye, dad." San took his things and left the car.

In the year that he's attended that school, San had quite a few admirers. Well, not a few. People would turn to see him. There was just something about him that caught everyone's attention.

San entered his classroom and noticed several name tags on specific desks. He rose an eyebrow at one sitting next to him.

'Wooyoung'

"They must be new," San whispered to himself. Yet when he looked at the person sitting in the seat, he frowned.

"Jongho, I didn't know your name was 'Wooyoung.'"

Jongho waved him away. "I'm just trying to talk to my girlfriend, asshole."

San shrugged and slumped into his seat. A few minutes later, he heard a new voice speak up.

"I think you're sitting in my seat."

Round glasses, black hair, and a timid face. That's all San could see. But when he saw Jongho stand, he knew something was going wrong.

"Pick another seat."

"There aren't any others. I think your stuff is on the last one." Wooyoung nodded to a desk in the back.

"Jongho, please move to your seat," The teacher said. "I put you there for a reason."

"No."

Wooyoung shuffled uncomfortably as everyone watched the exchange. Jongho took the name tag and ripped it down the middle. Then he threw it in Wooyoung's face.
