16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

To walk in the Spirit mentioned in Galatians. We need to have the fruit of the Spirit. You're walking in the Spirit when you don't give in to the lust of the flesh and walk in love, you walk in joy, peace, patience, goodness, self-control etc

It's when you could walk in hate out of the weakness of your flesh but the Holy Spirit enables you to now walk in forgiveness. When you could have walked in sorrow but the Holy Spirit helps you bear the fruit of joy.

These fruits are seen at moments when we should be in anger, envy, lust, sorrow etc but instead by the power of the Holy Spirit in us that we received in faith we bear the opposite fruit. We walk in purity. We walk in love. We walk in forgiveness and this is how we bear witness that we are disciples of Christ because of our love for another (John 13:35).

Where love is, if love is in our hearts there is no place for pride, envy etc.

I know this because in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 it writes that love does not envy, it does not boast. So if our hearts, minds and spirit are filled with love there is no place for envy, bitterness etc to reside.

The Holy Spirit is the one who changes your desire for sin to living for Him. For those who struggle with overcoming sin and ask themselves how they can stop falling back into the same sin, it's the Holy Spirit that enables you to resist the devil and help you not fall into sin.

You know You're walking in the spirit and led by the Spirit when you bear these fruits. You know a servant of God and ministry is Godly when they bear these fruits. When someone has love, joy, peace, and patience and you can see Christ in them and their actions, you know they are truly a servant of God and their ministry is genuine.

Walking in the Spirit is also walking in alignment, in accordance with the word of God, the character of God and His ways. The Spirit is God, He won't make you walk in contradiction to the word of God. He won't lead you against God's word and who God is.

When we walk in the Spirit we also walk by faith, we walk in boldness, and we walk in knowing who our God is. We walk in knowing God can provide and God can heal.
