Reena: It looks like I really did sleep but I’m still not opening my eyes. I have no idea how long I was out but I don’t care. I listen to my surroundings. The rain has already stopped. Hm. That’s good, but the wind is cold. I can feel it coming inside the cave.

I wrap my jacket around me tighter.  But it’s still cold. My jacket looks thin fighting with this kind of weather. It was out of my expectation that I will be spending the night in the mountain. It’s much colder here that in the capital.

A shiver runs down my spine. Now I remember that I lost the cell phone mother bought me! Urgh! That has a sentimental value for me since that is my first cellular phone ever. I pout. Maybe when I explain everything to mother, she’ll give me another one…or not, I can also ask Sean to buy me a new one, right?

I smile to myself then I wonder how are Alexia and Mariella now. I know for sure that they are both safe and I’m also thinking…how will we be able to be rescued from here? Edward is sure that Vincent will find us. But how will he find two people inside a huge mountain? Edward has unwavering confidence in him so I’ll trust his words.

I suddenly feel something heavy lean on me on my left side. It’s startling so I snap my eyes open. I look at my other side and see Edward fast asleep and leaning on me.

“Edward…” I mutter. He’s heavy. His head is already resting on my shoulder. He still smells a little bit of chocolate. His hair is ruffled and why do I have the urge to ruffle it more with my fingers?

I wonder how his arm is. My ankle feels a lot better now thanks to those leaves he gave me earlier.

The cold night air comes in and I shiver inside my jacket. I notice that it’s kinda bright inside our cave. A bit of white light streams in from the entrance. Seems like there’s a moon outside. Thank God I can better see my surroundings.

The cave that we are in looks like has been used by hikers recently because there has been a fire pit in the center. The dark ashes from it still remain. It will be nice if we have a nice fire here. My clothes are still damp and Edward’s too.

“Urgh…”

“Edward?”

“Urgh…”

“Hey,” I touch his shoulder and shake him a bit, that’s when I notice that he is sweating heavily compared to earlier. His breathing is also uneven with closer inspection. I touch his forehead. Oh my God, he’s burning with fever! “Edward! Edward!”

“…hm…”

“Are you okay?” I ask. I don’t know what to do and I’m starting to panic. I lay him down gently on the cave floor.

With the help of the moonlight, I’m able to see clearly how he looks. And he looks bad. His cheeks are red and his face is covered with sweat. His skin is cold; he’s shivering as well.

I take my jacket off and drape it over his body and tuck it on his side.

I rarely get sick before so I really don’t know what to do next. But what I know is that the patient should be kept warm when shivering, drink a lot of water and the most important of all is medicine.

I wring my empty hands in front of me.

“Edward, are you thirsty?” what a stupid question. Of course he is. “Wait for me here, okay/ I’ll get some water.”

“Hnn…”

“Edward?” his eyes are barely open.

“R-Reena,” his voice sounds weak and rough. “Where are you going?”
