Reena: It has already been a month since I started studying here in Philanter Academy. A lot of things have also happened but school life is still the same. Still somewhat normal except for the ideals and changes that have sprung in the minds of my schoolmates about lessening the power and authority of the student council and making the principal in-charge is the courtesy of the new student, Kyle Rome.

Kyle has become really popular in the whole school. Maybe it’s because of his personality—cheery and charismatic. He’s also very smart. But behind those smiles, I still feel uncomfortable towards him…it’s like he’s planning something behind our backs—which is true. I took Edward’s advice to be careful around him.

About my memory loss, I told alexia about it and she was good enough to comfort me. I mentioned to her briefly what I remembered and she was a good listener.

My mother called the very next day after I called Sean. She was crying and promised to tell me everything when we meet again. She also bought me a cell phone so I can call her anytime I want and when I remembered something again.

I can hear the guilt in mother’s voice but I didn’t mention it to her anymore and just kept it to myself.

So far, I haven’t remembered anything yet. Alexia told me not to force it because it might pressure my mind or something so I decided to take my time and just focus on the present…most would agree, I think.

Speaking about the present, the midterm exams are coming and it has been mentioned by all of our teachers. This is my first time taking a written exam.

“Think of it like a quiz,” Alexia says. “The difference is just it’s much longer and harder.”

“”I know…but still.” I say while we’re walking down the corridor towards the club rooms. Me and alexia joined the tennis club. Well it’s not really what I wanted but it’s good in building stamina and flexibility. Oh muscle power as well.

“Don’t worry about it. Just focus on studying and you’ll be fine.”

“I guess so…”

We reach the ground floor of the building and see some students crowding around the bulletin board. There is some sort of announcement everybody is talking about. We get closer to read it.

“Training camp to Mt. Hipkey…second years are all required to attend…” I read.

“Three days of training…” Alexia sighs. “Well, it is mostly be about exercises and climbing the mountain for sure.

“Where’s Mt. Hipkey?” I ask. I’m really excited about this training and can’t wait for next week. It will be on Thursday to Saturday.

“Oh, that’s just outside of Vierra…maybe an hour drive. You’ll enjoy the place because it’s beautiful. His Majesty developed it to be a tourist destination just three years ago.”

“I see…then this sounds like a vacation then.” I say excitedly.

“I doubt that. Don’t get your hopes up, Reena.” Alexia says with a smile.

“Why?”

“You’ll see…” she says and doesn’t elaborate further.

We meet Mariella in the tennis courts and play a match with her. She’s really good in tennis as I see her smash hits consecutively. Alexia can’t do anything against her.

They are currently rallying, running from end to end. The crowd has been loud all this time cheering for their bets.

Alexia misses a shot from Mariella and staggers for a bit. She looks very exhausted already. Both of them are already breathing hard but Mariella has a gleam in her eyes. I know that alexia will not be totally defeated immediately. She’ll do her best until the end of the game.
