Reena: We walk towards the dormitory—Alexia and I after dinner. She also joined us in dinner together with Mariella. I didn’t tell my friend the reason of course but luckily for me Alexia spoke and asked if she can eat dinner with us. Mariella was surprised and I also pretended to so she wouldn’t think of anything weird.

I insert my key in the door of our room. My companion meanwhile is silent. As usual. I open the door and see a lot of suitcases and boxes around the floor. I see Alexia blush in embarrassment.

“I’m sorry about the mess.” She mumbles as she quickly runs to her things.

“Don’t worry about it.” I say as she starts unpacking hastily and dumps them inside the closet near her bed. One look at her and i immediately know she doesn’t have any idea how to fix her clothes. She probably has been used to the services of a maid in the palace. “I’ll help you unpack.”

I go over one of her boxes and tons of books appeared as I lift the lid. No wonder it felt heavy.

“Do you mind if I arrange this for you on the book shelf?” I ask her. I know that some people don’t like their very prized possessions to be touched by anyone but themselves. So I think it’s better to ask first.

She nods.

I gather a pile of books on my arms and walk over to the book shelf. I can feel a pair of eyes staring at me.

“Do you know why your previous protector disappeared?”

I wait for her to answer but not expecting it though. I am getting used to her silence.

“She suddenly disappeared and I don’t know why.” She says.

I turn around and see that her eyes are downcast. Various reasons can be concluded from that. Her previous protector could either be killed or kidnapped or...

“Don’t worry. I’m tougher than I look. I came from the Brightnott family after all. I’ll make sure to protect you.” I assure her.

She smile a little and it immediately brightens her face. “That’s what Edward said when he recommended you.”

“So he really suggested me for this job?” I say unbelievingly.

“Yes.” She says. “Aren’t you in good terms with him? Do you hate him?”

“Well...let’s just say that his presence already irritates me.” I say slightly unsure of the reason.

“Really? But I thought you two are friends.”

“Did it look like that way?” I say, eyes widening.

She nods.

“I don’t think so.” I return to the book shelf and she sense that I don’t want to talk about Edward anymore so she turns silent again.  “I hope we can be good friends.”

After a while she says, “Me, too. That’s what I wish.”

“I’m glad that I finally have a roommate.” I say. “It’s kinda lonely being alone.”

“Yeah...” she says as she plops on her bed and lie down.

The contents of her suitcase are already inside her closet. I don’t want to imagine how she crammed everything in there. I go to the bathroom to get ready for bed.

“Hey Alexia, your turn now.” I say as I come out but I see her already sleeping on her bed.

Her legs are hanging on the side of the bed and I lift them up so she can be more comfortable. I remove her shoes then I throw a blanket over her.
