Reena: “You are from the house of Philanter?”
“Yes.” He says.
I can hear the noise from the crowd getting louder and louder.
“Did you hear? She’s from the Brightnott family.”
“No wonder she has good combat skills.”
“What do you think Scott will do?”
“You are very headstrong. You don’t easily submit to anyone…but while you are here, you have to obey our rules.” Scott explains
.
He is very different compared to the disciplinary committee guys. He means every word he said and he’s implying that if I make a wrong move…it will be bad for me.
“You know full well that weapons are not allowed but you still chose to disobey the rule so we have no choice to confiscate it. Please hand it over.”
“I do not want to.”
“So you’re stubborn through and through. I’ve heard all about you from the Vice Pres.” He says.
“The vice president?”
“I believe it was him who welcomed you yesterday. It was Edward Sanders.” He says.
“The word ‘welcome’ is not appropriate. I did not even feel welcomed at all.” I say then he burst out laughing and it echoes across the whole silent cafeteria.
“So you are not in good terms with the vice pres, huh?” Scott says. “Anyway… so you still do not want to hand your weapon over…I’m afraid that I have no choice but to call your father.”
It took me thirty seconds to process what he said then it’s my turn to laugh. “Are you serious?”
“Of course, I’m always serious when it comes to my duties.” He says. “If you can’t follow us, you’ll surely answer to your father.”
“You are just bluffing. There’s no way that you can talk to my father since he is always busy. He doesn’t even have time for himself.” I say. I am confident about this fact.
The bell rings.
“Don’t be so sure, Ms. Brightnott.” He says with a smirk. “The student council is not an easy enemy. You are still ten years early to challenge us.”
“Heh. Bring it on.” I say then I stride past him without making any backward glance. I rush to my first class.
I take my map from my inside pocket then trace my way towards my classroom. Most of the students are already there. They turned their heads towards me when I enter. Luckily the teacher is still not in. The classroom is big and is located at the third floor. It also looked very modern. There is a long glass board and a platform for the teacher. There is also a pull-down LCD screen while the projector is hanging in the ceiling above. The setting is so different from the ones in Lidora.
It also looks like what happened in the cafeteria already reached here. There are murmurings around me again.
I look for an empty seat. I scan the room and see two empty seats in one column by the window. I start towards that direction.
“Um, excuse me but those seats are already taken.” A girl says to me.
“Oh. Thanks.” I reply. I scan the room again for a vacant seat.
“If you don’t mind being in the last row, there’s a empty seat there.” The girl suggests.
It looks like I don’t have any choice so I took her suggestion and seated myself at the very back.
